Halloween Tasting Special
Wednesday, October 31, 6pm - 8pm
$15 for a taste of each of the wines, a glass of your favorite and light appetizers from Three Little Pigs.
We are going to limit attendance for this special tasting, so please register to hold your spot by registering on the following email.
2010 Paladin Pralis - 11.57 bottle (5.50 gl) - Delicate and elegant for the peach and apricot hints with clean aromatic notes of tropical fruit and mineral scents. Particularly velvety and enfolding, that reveals a strong personality and an excellent structure. It is a classic wine for the entire meal; a wonderful accompaniment to delicate soups, fish dishes, white meats or escalope, soft cheeses, hams and young cold cuts. Good as an aperitif and as wine for conversations. Very original wine obtained from the vinification of Pinot Bianco, Tai and Manzoni Bianco grapes. The Pinot Bianco gives the wine softness and elegance, while Manzoni and Tai enrich its body and create an aromatic note making its fragrance inviting and pleasant.
2011 Paladin Pinot Grigio - 11.57 bottle (5.50 gl) - Wine Enthusiast - "Flavors of stone fruit, citrus and crushed mineral mark the simple, refreshing mouth-feel. This is a good choice for a hot summer afternoon." This prestigious variety gets its name from the coppery color of the ripe fruit. The fermentation without the skins allows the production of a wine with a straw-yellow color, great personality and of notable structure.Vibrant and elegant, with acacia blossoms and nutmeg notes. Dry, pleasant for the fresh and light acidic note.
2010 Paladin Salbanello Rosato Frizzante - 10.57 bottle (5 gl) - Pleasant, with scented notes of berry fruit and rose petals, delightful and inviting. Tangy, fresh, easy-drinking and pleasantly round. Very nice as an aperitif, it is an excellent match to tasty snacks. Its freshness exalts the delicate courses of modern meals, first courses, white meats, soups and young cheeses. The rosé version of our famous red wine Salbanello. It comes from the harmonious blend of Cabernet, historical full-bodied Eastern Veneto vine and the elegant and soft Malbec. The grapes are vinified separately and are blended together prior to the second fermentation. The Charmat method fermentation goes on for 40 days at a temperature of 18°C in order to produce a fine, long-lasting and delicate perlage. Thanks to these 2 varieties Salbanello rosato is a perfect mix of freshness, body and length.
2010 Paladin Salbanello - 11.57 bottle (5.50 gl) - Vinous, fresh, with intense notes of redcurrant and raspberry. Velvety and well-balanced. It has a notable body and a good supple finish. Excellent match to tasty snacks and dishes of the Mediterranean tradition. Suitable at home, and restaurants specializing in pasta dishes. Experience has taught us how to harmoniously blend Malbec and Cabernet grapes. The delicate mellowness of Malbec and the rich body of Cabernet are brought together to create a wine of delightful drinkability, suitable for every occasion. It satisfies the requirement of fresh drinks for modern meals, often made up by a single course.
2010 Paladin Raboso - 11.57 bottle (5.50 gl) - Lingering and scented, it recalls wild violets and morello cherry. Lively wine, fruity, with a full-flavored and dry finish. Ideal with savory first courses, fish with sauces, white and red meats, middle-aged cheeses, dried cod, cuttlefish and stewed fish. Raboso is one of the oldest Eastern Veneto vines and its grapes are harvested in late autumn. The fermentation stops at a cold temperature making the wine slightly sweet, fresh and aromatic. With the recommencement of the fermentation, the Raboso gets a pleasant liveliness, which praises the fruity notes and the particular softness. In order to highlight these characteristics, which make our Raboso unique, we have called it "Fiore" ("flower"). The 2010 vintage celebrates the 30th year of production and of great success.

Friday Night Tasting Lineup
2007 Höpler Blaufrankisch
From the Neusiedlersee-hills, Burgenland region, on the western shore of Lake Neusiedl. Blue fruit & herb, a tad shyer, bright & focused fruit. Light & clean. Juicy. Nice aromatics of cherry & dried plum. The Sam rating is Strong Buy at great value for the money. Elegant. A less oft-seen late-ripening grape, from the chilly hills of Austria. Nice pronounced spice character and mineral balance with the soft mouth-feel. Genetic parent with St. Laurent of Zweigelt, Austria's most grown red variety. Drinking well now, could be cellared for another year. The vineyards are in a micro-climate between the southeast slopes of the Leitha Mountains and the nearby, warmth-giving lake. Preserved red and black berries, cherries and some plums on the nose, meaty notes, fairly prominent earthy notes, light spicy oak. Straightforward, delicately tart fruit on the palate, light oak and vegetal notes, quite fine but slightly astringent tannins, tart style, not particularly deep, slightly astringent on an attractive to good finish.
Our Price: 22.97
2011 Höpler Riesling
Spritz, so dry, apple nose, slate petrol. Lemon & lanolin. On the shelf already when we tasted with the winemaker. Delightful. Keeper. Really reflects the soil and is deftly handled during the fermentation with temperature controlled stainless steel vats. A very dry & mineral version as we expect from Austria. Great example. Riesling, the "King" of white wines, shows off with its compelling primary rock personality. Riesling is a particularly good accompaniment to seafood, such as fillet of trout or Gravad salmon, shellfish and crustaceans, such as lobster, crayfish, scampi, or with Parma ham.
Our Price: 22.57
2009 Höpler Eiswein, 375 ml
Eiswein from Pinot Noir - My rare 4+ rating was given... Intense & awesome. Coolness. Wine for Normal People - "The difference between this and the wines that are affected with botrytis. This wine didn't smell like honey at all. It was like sweet, baked fruit -- peaches, apricot, and nectarines. Delicious but a little more straightforward. Lighter than the previous two wines. It was like kiwi, baked pie crust, with light spicy. Tart, with great acid but lighter and less oily than the previous wines. Another great wine with fruit or creamy desserts." June 26, 2012. A unique wine made from fully matured grapes which are left on the vine until they reached a temperature of at least -7°C (19.4°F). The water in the grapes forms ice crystals, and after gentle pressing the remaining concentrate is made into an exceptional wine with elegant sweetness balanced by refreshing acidity. Color: Light amber. Nose: Delicate spicy aromas, date and caramel. Palate: Smoky elements, hints of tobacco and honey. Food pairing: Eiswein is a delicious wine to accompany various fruits and pastries but can also be enjoyed on its own.
Our Price: 62.57
