Two New Lake Forms: Training Offered
RVAR's Standard Forms Committee is pleased to present two new Lake forms -- the Lake Disclosure (to be used with listings and contracts) and the Lake Addendum (to be used with contracts). These forms encompass input from many Brokers, Agents and Attorneys who handle Lake transactions. Three training classes are available -- two classes will be held at Westlake Country Club and one class at the RVAR office. Click on the links below to register. Samples of these forms will be provided during training. PDFs of these forms will be available by November 21st for member use. These forms will go live in RVAR's zipForm library by mid-December.

Forms Revisions Slated for December
The following form revisions will also go live in RVAR's zipForm library by mid-December.
1. Revisions related to Lake forms: The following forms will be revised to reflect the Lake Disclosure and Lake Addendum as possible Addenda: Seller Listing; Purchase Agreement; Lot/Land Purchase Agreement.
2. Seller Listing Disclosure: The Exclusive Right to Represent Seller Agreement will be revised to add a Disclosure Statement for Residential Property Previously Used to Manufacture Methamphetamine.
3. Addendum/Amendment to Purchase Agreement: Four copies of this form will become available in zipForms, so that you may use up to 4 per Purchase Agreement.

2014 Installation & Awards Breakfast
Please join us as we celebrate the successes of 2014 and install our 2015 Officers and Directors. Our Installation & Awards Breakfast will be held on Friday, December 12th at the Sheraton Hotel Roanoke from 8:30 until 10:30 AM. The cost is $15 to attend which includes breakfast. News Corp. Closes realtor.com Deal
Global media giant News Corp. now owns realtor.com operator Move Inc., with the $950 million deal closing November 14th. News Corp. owns media outlets around the world including The Wall Street Journal, Barron's, Harper Collins Publishers and London-based The Times. Those assets are expected to expand realtor.com's reach. "In partnership with the National Association of REALTORS® and its 1 million members, we look forward to turbocharging realtor.com and making it the most popular and profitable property site in America," said Robert Thomson, CEO of News Corp.

2014 Profile of Buyers and Sellers
Each year, the National Association of REALTORS® gathers detailed information about the buying and selling experience nationwide. Did you know that ... * The typical homebuyer in 2014 searched for 10 weeks, and viewed 10 homes before purchasing - this is two weeks shorter than the previous year's report. * Ninety-two percent of buyers used the Internet in some way in their home search and 50 percent used a mobile website or application in their home search. * Eighty-eight percent of buyers purchased their home through a real estate agent. * The typical home purchased had 1,870 square feet of living space, three bedrooms, two bathrooms and was built in 1993. * The typical seller lived in their home for 10 years.
