AHP members to vote on Bylaws revisions
All current AHP members were mailed a copy of the proposed amendments to the current Bylaws dated June 2011. A vote to approve the amendments will be taken at the General Membership Meeting scheduled for 1:30 p.m., June 22, 2013 at the Colorado Springs Marriott in Colorado Springs, Colorado, during the AHP "Meet at the Peak" Seminar. Repeal or alteration of these Bylaws may be made either in full or in part by vote of two-thirds of the members voting at the annual meeting, provided written notice of the proposed revisions has been sent at least 30 days prior to such meeting.
The reasons for these proposed amendments are as follows:
- To provide for representation from all membership categories as well as to define policies for serving on the Board of Directors.
- To update wording that is no longer applicable or procedures that are no longer performed.
- To remove any policies affecting daily operations that will be listed in a separate Policy Manual.
- To provide for electronic communication for all correspondence and voting purposes between the Board and general membership.
If you are planning to attend the seminar, please be present at the general membership meeting in Colorado Springs to vote. No other action is required.
If you are not the main contact and would like a copy of the proposed Bylaws revisions e-mailed to you, please contact Chris at ahorsepubs@aol.com.
