IT'S TIME FOR SHOWCASE!
showcase 2013
Showcase back
Here are some helpful tips and info

SHOWCASE 101
The Sooner Theatre Showcase is one of our favorite days of the year.  It's always amazing to watch the cute precociousness of the little bitty Broadway Babies as it grows into our very talented teenagers.  It's a chance to let our students shine!  The Sooner Theatre Showcase 2013 will be Saturday, April 20th, at 2 and 7:30 pm.

Our Acting and Improv classes will have a separate parent performance at the STUDIO, so that they can show off their skills! Please watch your email for date and time if your performer is in those classes.

Classes participating in Showcase will have extra rehearsals outside of class time that week, and a detailed rehearsal schedule will be sent to you in a separate email so please keep an eye out for it but there are a few things you can do now to be ready for performances.

1. CHECK SPELLING/T-SHIRT SIZES
We have a list of all classes performing in Showcase posted at the Studio. If you did not check the spelling of your child's name and give us their current t-shirt size, please do so today!

2. LABEL EVERYTHING:
Dance shoes and Showcase Shirts all look the same in a dressing room. Put your performer's name on EVERYTHING.

3. MAKE UP & HAIR:
Your child's instructor will let you know if they want something done special with your child's hair.  Please remember to keep it out of their face and that we never share makeup.  Please provide your own make up for your child.

4. CALL TIME:
A Call time is when we need your child there, ready to perform. For all dress rehearsals and shows, this means they need to be completely ready with hair and makeup ready to go. Please remember it is always better to be early than late.

5. FLEXIBILITY:
We will always do our best to get the kids out on time however sometimes that just doesn't happen.  So please understand if we are running a bit behind in rehearsals.  We know the kids have school and we want them to get to bed on time as well.

6.  T-SHIRTS:
Showcase 2013 T-shirts will be passed out to your child the week of the show.  They will need these along with black dance pants for the show even if they have a costume with a different performing group.

7. EMAILS ROCK:
There is so much to know about Showcase in the weeks prior to the performance.  Please read all the emails sent from us.  This is our major form of communication.

8.  BRAVO GIFTS:
We always like to tell our children BRAVO after a great show. The S.T.A.R.S. parent organization will be running a boutique for each show.  There will be flowers, small gifts, Sooner Theatre apparel and other fun stuff.  Please purchase your Bravo gifts from us.   All the money goes right back to The Sooner Theatre and the Studio.

9. TICKETS
Tickets can be purchased online 24 hours per day, or by phone or in person at The Sooner Theatre box office, Tues.-Fri., 10 a.m. - noon and 2-5 p.m. There is a $2 per ticket convenience charge for each ticket purchased via phone or online. Tickets to Showcase are $10 per person.  These performances always sell out so please purchase your tickets soon.

10. VOLUNTEERS
Every show we do is only possible because of the volunteers who help us with everything! We are looking for parents to help usher, work the sweet shoppe and boutique, and clean between shows. Please click here to view available volunteer slots for the shows!

10. SHOWCASE MARKS THE END OF THE SCHOOL YEAR
Regular classes will not meet after Showcase. Our Ambassador Performance Troupes (Broadway Kids, Show Troupe and Ensemble) may have additional rehearsals to prep for festival or other civic appearances as necessary.

WE  HAVE LOVED WORKING WILL ALL OUR AMAZING PERFORMING ARTS STUDENTS THIS YEAR!
