22nd Annual Central WV Mule and Donkey Show

From I-79, take Exit 67 Flatwoods. Turn East after exit. Turn right at the stop light onto Sutton Lane. Continue south for 1 mile. Turn left at the Go Mart into Airport Road. Drive 2 miles to Holly Gray Park entrance on left.

Elk River Race



October 4th
11:30 a.m. at the Sutton Dam

The Elk Rive Race is a one (1) mile downriver race for canoes and kayaks. 
The race will likely take place at low water level. Paddlers navigate a few of the Elk River's shallow narrows and competitive slow flowing channels. 
The Elk River Race is a component of the Sutton Fall Festival.

The race will begin at the Sutton Dam lower public river access area, and end at the Sutton Bridge in downtown Sutton (first bridge on route). 

To register for this event fill out the registration form
and mail it to:

OR stop by the registration booth at the Fall Festival 
one hour prior to event start to register. 
At least 3 boats must be registered for race to take place as scheduled.

The first 10 racers to register will receive a Free T-shirt!

Share this info with all your fellow river rats! You must provide your own kayak/canoe. Life jackets must be accessible on your boat, by ALL participants. 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners announced. Each winner will receive a medal, and bragging rights for the entire year! The
1st Place winner will also receive a cash prize. Entry fee of $10.00 per boat to register. Registration fees cover the cost of prizes and t-shirts. 

All contestants will be required to sign a waiver at registration. Children permitted to participate when accompanied by an adult, 
Children must wear life jacket.
