The book "Micah" is now available at Bear Heaven/Sunoco in Flatwoods | |
Braxton County author, Dani Ramsey, is delighted to see her book "Micah" published, printed and available for readers.
"The two years of writing were heart-wrenching as I poured over Micah's writing and tried to put the events into words, but the last six months have just been a lot of work," she said with a relieved smile on her face. "I wrote the book for the kids. I just felt I needed to tell the story to all of Micah's classmates and friends, so they really knew how he felt about the diagnosis and what transpired during those last 20 weeks. In fact the entire book is dedicated to the Braxton County High School Graduating Class of 2012, and every student will receive a copy before graduation."
Xulon Publishers picked up the book, and has high hopes of seeing the book in Christian bookstores across the nation sometime this year. Brenda Gibson edited the manuscript and provided much-needed encouragement as the process seemed never-ending. The cover and layout was a family effort by all the Ramsey's, and now they are busy with disbursement.
Copies may be purchased for $12 at Bear Heaven/Sunoco in Flatwoods, WV.
The Ramsey's want to thank everyone who made this project possible during the pre-sale which provided the financial backing needed for printing.

Wounded Warrior Project
Help Honor Our Troops | |
On June 21, 2012, Jamie Summerlin will be running through our area to support the Wounded Warrior Project, West Virginia based Operation Welcome Home and Vet Connections of WV.
This is our honor and privilege, as citizens of Braxton County, to show our support to the past and present soldiers that have made our nation safe!
Please come and join Jamie in his effort toward this goal!
Jamie will be starting on June 21st in Gassaway at 8:00am and ending his daily run in Burnsville at about 1:00pm.

Come rent a rowboat, a fishing boat, a paddle boat or a pontoon! We now have a certified marine mechanic on board, Hayden Sawyer. He is currently taking care of our fleet and the Marina members' boats, but he is also available outside the Marina.
