Drivers Rev Up For The Cheapest Summer Gasoline Prices In 12 Years

'For all of 2016, the average household will save about $350 on gasoline purchases compared with last year.'

Adam Sieminski, U.S.
EIA

Vacationers will have a reason to really celebrate this summer, with gasoline prices expected to be at their cheapest levels for the season since 2004.
"U.S. drivers are expected to pay the cheapest summer gasoline prices in 12 years, as low crude oil prices mean more savings at the pump," U.S. Energy Information Administration Administrator Adam Sieminski said in a statement Tuesday.

Prices at the pump this summer are expected to average $2.04 a gallon, the outlook report said. That compares to $2.63 in the summer of 2015, and would be significantly lower than the $3.59 average from the summer of 2014.
The report attributes the lower fuel prices to declines in crude-oil prices and narrower refining margins-the difference between the wholesale value of oil products and value of crude.
The EIA expects an average price of $34.60 a barrel for West Texas Intermediate crude CLK6, -2.70% down about 29% from last year and about a 63% drop from 2014.
Meanwhile, demand for gasoline is forecast to hit a record this summer.
"Low pump prices and continuing growth in employment contribute to more driving, resulting in a forecast of record high gasoline demand this summer," said Sieminski.
The EIA report said that it expects gasoline consumption to rise by 1.3% this summer, compared with summer last year, with retail prices likely to be 23% lower.

And it does! This 110,000+ pound tri steer, tri axle cement pumper down on a roughly 45 degree street in Manhattan. It truly was a bear of a job to get it hooked up and to the dealership in Rockaway, NJ but Tommy, Arty & Paul got the job done!

Carelessness Causes Crash
Even when you are an experienced driver don't take short cuts. Accidents can and do happen as evidenced by this story. The driver of this Jeep started it by stepping on his clutch while standing outside of the vehicle. As soon as he lifted his foot off the clutch, he realized it was in gear and the jeep took off traveling half a block into the fence to a children's park. Thank goodness it was in the evening when no children were playing.
