May 2015 Newsletter

The weather this spring has been up and down but we're hoping for some beautiful days in the weeks ahead. In that vein, there's a great article below on getting out and walking (I'm working on that myself!).
We've also highlighted a few interesting jobs for you to peruse. As you can see we are up for just about anything! Keep us in mind and stay safe out there.

Federal Reserve Response
This motorist lost control of her car and crashed into a sign, over some bushes and into the fence of the Federal Reserve. The car was teetering on top of the sign that was wedged into the undercarriage of the vehicle. We sent the rotator to lift the car off fence, up and over the bushes to prevent any further damage to the landscaping and to get the car off the sign, all under the watchful eye of the Federal Reserve police. It was then loaded onto one of our flatbed tow trucks. Great job guys!

7 Ways Walking a Dog Can Boost Your Health

As the weather gets warmer, it's time to get outside more with your pup to promote a healthy life for you both. Did you know that walking a dog for just 30 minutes a day can reduce your risk for heart disease, relieve stress and more? Check out these reasons to walk more often with your dog.

You'll Get More Physical Activity. Dog walkers are two and a half times more likely to meet the daily recommendation of physical activity a day than non-dog walkers.

It's a Stress Reliever. Bonding with your pet reduces stress, and so does physical activity. Walking your dog is a double whammy against tension and anxiety.

You'll Lower Your Risk For Obesity. People who walk their dogs are significantly less likely to be obese than people who don't have dogs or don't walk their dogs.

It's Good for Your Social Life. As you stroll, you're bound to run into other people and pets and that has health benefits for you and your pup.

You'll Get Away From Your Desk. Sitting all day is not healthy, so if your office is close to home, spend your lunch break walking your dog instead of eating at your desk.

It's Good For Your Brain. Researchers found that regular aerobic exercise seems to increase the size of the hippocampus, the area of the brain responsible for memory. Plus it's great for your dog's mental health, too!

Your Heart Will Thank You. Research suggests that having pets decreases cardiovascular risk by a combination of the stress relief, physical activity and other benefits associated with having a pet.
