Recovery on the Garden State Parkway

This car was traveling down the Garden State Parkway when it lost control. The call came in as a car over a guard rail. We dispatched our rotator and flatbed to the scene. When we arrived, to our utter amazement, the car had actually slid UNDER the guard rail! Thank goodness the driver survived. The entire convertible roof was sheared off . The guard rail had to be cut to gain access to the vehicle. We then utilized our spreader bar on the rotator to lift the vehicle and load it onto our rollback so that neither the oil pan or gas tank were ruptured during the recovery by the guard rail stanchions. It just goes to show, you never know what you are going to find until you get on scene!

Educate Your Drivers To Save Lives and $

Washington- U.S. Transportation Secretary Ray Lahood has announced a final rule specifically prohibiting interstate truck and bus drivers from using handheld cell phones while operating their vehicles
Drivers who violated the restriction will face federal civil penalties of up to $2,750 for each offense and disqualification from operating a commercial motor vehicle for multiple offenses. Additionally, states will suspend a driver's commercial drivers license (CDL) after two or more serious traffic violations.
Commercial truck and bus companies that allow their drivers to use hand-held cell phones while driving will face a maximum penalty of $11,000 per offense!

Low Bridge Lowdown
The air ride valve on this truck was out of adjustment which caused the trailer to low bridge. We cut the rear doors off of the trailer and lowered the suspension to allow us to transport it to our facility for repairs. This is a great case of our mechanics and heavy duty operators working like a well oiled machine.
