Nicks Towing Service, Inc. Late January 2014 Newsletter |
2014 is well underway and, as I'm sure you are, we've been working hard in the cold, ice and snow. I hope you enjoy the photo spread below of a recent recovery in a salt shed. A new one for us but that's what we do, plan and prepare for the unknown! If you are lucky enough to have today off, enjoy. We'll be here for you if you need us, as always. Until next time stay safe out there.
Sincerely, Nick Testa President |
Salty Situation
We were called to the scene when a loader working to put salt into a salt shed unfortunately rolled over. Upon arrival we attempted to back up over the mound of salt but it was too unstable. Salt was removed by another loader to create a "driveway" for us to back up into to gain access to the machine inside the salt shed. Once inside, we were able to extend the boom of our 40 ton rotator to upright the machine. The "driveway" was back filled with salt again so the loader could drive out. Great job Tom and Flo! | |

MLK Day is 1/20/14
Martin Luther King, Jr. Day is celebrated on the third Monday of January to honor the birthday of civil rights leader Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. The American federal holiday remembers the nonviolent activism of King and his successful protest against racial discrimination. The holiday came into existence after King's death--he was assassinated on April 4, 1968. King was the first African-American to be named Time magazine's Man of the Year in 1963, and was the youngest man to be presented the Nobel Peace Prize at the young age of 35.
Interesting Fact: There are more than 900 streets named after Martin Luther King, Jr. in the United States.
"The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy." --Martin Luther King, Jr.
