They trust our expertise and know that the situation will be handled carefully and professionally, helping to ensure an efficient resolution to every day tows as well as challenging situations.

Poem of
the Month
"The clock of life is wound just once, and no man has the power to tell just when the hands will stop, at late or early hour. Now is the only time you own...live, love, toil with a will. Place no faith in time. For the cock may soon be still."

The Winter weather is here. Cold, snow and ice make traveling in the tri-state area difficult. Don't let the day to day get you down. We can help with hot starts, breakdowns and tows to keep you moving trouble free. Give us a call and let us handle the worry for you. Then you can move onto the next problem, like that Christmas gift list you haven't started!

Drill Rig Dilemma

The engine on this drill rig failed while the boom was in the upright position. This left the boom stuck in the air. We were called out to lower the boom so it could be packed away and the truck towed. We hooked our winch line to it along with a strap to safely lower the boom down on the drill rig. Once the boom was lowered and safely stowed away we still needed to hook up to the truck to tow it. Due to the location of the truck we needed to utilize our rotator to hook to the nose of the truck and swing it around so it could be towed out. Great job Tom!

Smart Rainy Day Driving Tips

Rainy day crashes can be avoided with a few smart driving tips.

- Replace old, worn and/or brittle wiper blades.

- Stay toward the middle lanes - water tends to pool in the outside lanes.

- Check the tread and inflation of your tires. Properly maintained tires provide the added traction you will need on wet roads.

- Maintain a proper following distance. This should be increased in foul weather.

- SLOW DOWN! It takes longer to stop in wet weather.  Plus the faster you drive, the greater the chances of hydroplaning!

- Avoid using your brakes if possible. Slow down, and take your foot off of the accelerator. Keep an eye out for brake lights ahead of you.

- Turn on your headlights (in NJ and many other states it is the law).

- Don't use cruise control.

- Never drive through moving water if you cannot see the ground through it - you could be swept right off the road!

- Watch out for places where floodwater collects, particularly in low-lying roads, dips under rail or highway bridges, etc.

If you are considering the holiday gift of a pet, here are some helpful hints... Rocky

There are millions of animals in desperate need of a loving home. If you are considering adding another furry friend to your family here are some tips to ensure you adopt the right animal for your family's lifestyle:
  • Research Different Breeds: Different breeds have different characteristics & you will want to understand the types of behaviors that may be displayed by your new family member. You need to understand the energy of your household, the size of dog that you can handle, how much exercise you are able to provide and more.
  • Age-Old Wisdom: Be sure your new pet correlates with the ages of those in the household. A good rule of thumb: the new pet should fit the current physical capabilities of the caretakers with a perspective for what the next 10-15 years will bring.
  • A Gift for the Whole Family: Although it is exciting to surprise the family with a new pet, do some research and poll each family member to find out what they are looking for in a new pet so that the pet you choose aligns with the household.
  • Financial Responsibilities: A new pet can go for "free-to-a-good-home" to several thousand dollars. A budget must be set not only for the upfront cost of taking the pet home, but also for immediate follow-up costs like veterinary check-ups, a training crate & pet obedience classes. Also keep in mind that your pet will need to be fed and groomed and will also need chew toys and additional supplies like food bowls, a dog bed, brushes, leashes, etc.
  • Time & Energy: A new pet will cost the family time and energy. Various breeds and ages will make different demands, requiring more time in training and daily exercise than others.
