Nicks Towing Service, Inc.
Greetings!

The holidays are a time to consider the "big picture" for me. The day to day grind takes so much out of us and leaves little time for philosophical reflection. While it may not be on the forefront of my mind, there is no doubt that morals and beliefs lead me in my day to day. As I take time to reflect I wanted to share some of these thoughts with you because I am fairly certain that you take your companies values into account when making a decision about who to do business with. For that reason I wish to convey to you a few of our corporate values that I believe make our company top notch in our field.

First and foremost I expect every single employee here at Nick's Towing Service, Inc., from our secretaries to our drivers and everyone in between, to be advocates for you, our customer. If one of my people see a way to make your life easier I want to instill in them the power to do something about it.
I sincerely care about the business I began 40 years ago and the people I serve. I have had countless sleepless nights over the years worried about a particular customer and how to help with a problem they have, whether it is towing related or not. This business has been my life long endeavor and in that is serving others 24-7-365.
Nick's Towing Service, Inc. has been there over the years to support many groups, from the local softball league to the state towing association with our time, knowledge and money. Whether it is supporting initiatives within our industry to make things safer and better or to help those in our local community, we are there for those in need.
Constant improvement in our daily activities here at NTS is a goal of mine. That belief and concern drives us to maintain our leadership position by reinvesting in our trucks & education of our employees.
I appreciate you taking the time to read this. Best wishes to you and your family for a happy, healthy and safe holiday.

God bless,

Featured Job of the Month - Espresso For Everyone!

This is a job we did in NYC for an event production company. This box is a portable cafe! On a clear cool day, we transported the box into the Meat Packing District on our heavy duty flatbed. It was dropped into a specific marked spot on the cobblestone street by our 75 ton rotator tow truck. Once placed it was opened up and set to serve espresso to the general public. Nick's serves not only the Trucking Industry but the Entertainment Industry as well!

Road Fatalities Rise at Record Rate
ERPD Rollover

The total number of people killed in traffic crashes jumped 9% in the first half of 2012 to 16,290, the largest increase in first-half fatalities since the federal government started tracking the statistic.

Road fatalities hit their highest level since 2009, when there were 16,527 deaths, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said in a preliminary estimate released last month.

Based on estimates of how many miles Americans drove, there were 1.12 road fatalities per 100 million miles traveled, down from 1.04 in the first half of 2011 and is the highest since the 2009 level of 1.13.

Separately, the Labor Department announced in September that trucking was one of the country's most dangerous industries, with a 14% increase in on-the-job deaths. The agency said in a preliminary report that 474 workers died on the job last year, a 13.9% increase over the previous year.

General freight trucking accounted for 295 workplace deaths - 16.1% higher than 2010. The remaining 156 were in specialized trucking, a 12.2% jump from 2010, Labor said.

Support Your Local Food Pantry &hungry family   Rescue Program

Despite the tough economy we can always feel thankful for what we have and know there are others who are worse off. An easy way to help is through a donation to a local food pantry.
TIP: When purchasing food to donate to a local pantry, consider buying multiple quantities of a single item like peanut butter or spaghetti? Why? It's much more efficient for staff and volunteers to unload the packages and stock their shelves.

The Ministry of Transport, Mr. Pierre Moreau, announced that the Move Over Law went into effect in Quebec on August 5, 2012. "Every day, thousands of workers put themselves at risk by going to work on roadways or shoulders. The Move Over law is intended to protect those workers who, when exiting their emergency vehicle, tow truck or surveillance vehicle, may be risking their lives to save others."
