Look who is "Dancing with the Northshore Stars"
March 1, 2014

Our very own Executive Director, Carmin Dalziel, will be a contestant in Northshore Performing Arts Center's first ever "Dancing with the Northshore Stars".

This fun event will bring together a unique set of six community members. Similar to the popular TV show, they will be paired up with professionals to learn a ballroom dance routine over one week. The smartly costumed Northshore Stars will then perform live on stage. A panel of judges combined with audience votes will determine who will win the mirror ball trophy. While the votes are counted, the audience will be treated to a showcase of professional dancers from the Utah Ballroom Dance Company.

The all-star cast includes:

  • Dale Amundsen, Evergreen Washelli
  • Tom Bainter, Bothell High School
  • Head Football Coach
  • Carol Cummings, Chief of Police City of Bothell
  • Dusty DuBois, Bothell Chiropractic & Wellness Center
  • Carmin Dalziel, Executive Director Northshore Schools Foundation
  • Richard Olson, Olson Design

We hope you'll come enjoy the show and cheer-on Carmin!

Micheal Kutz, Keynote Speaker

Andy Wappler, Emcee

Bothell High Jazz Band

and special pre-event presentations by serveral of the Career and Technical Education Progams.

The luncheon will welcome 500 guests to celebrate the collaboration between our community and our schools, helping to ensure all Northshore students graduate career and college ready and able to fill the jobs of our future.  The goal of the luncheon is to raise more than $132,000 to support the Foundation's continued funding initiatives, which include Teacher Excellence; STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) Education; Support for Advanced and Disadvantaged Learners; Health & Enhancement and; Literacy & Arts Support in all 31 Northshore schools.

Since June 2012, Michael Kutz has served as the President of the Associated Students of the University of Washington.  The Associated Students of the University of Washington is the democratic voice of students that engages the campus community through programming, services and advocacy.

Kutz strives to enrich student life and develop future leaders through advocating for higher education state-wide.  In his role as Chair of Provost's Advisory Committee for Students, Kutz has been a key player in the establishment of Annual budgets, tuition levels and admissions for the University of Washington.

A 2010 International Baccalaureate graduate from Inglemoor, Kutz was active in the nationally renowned DECA program with an intention to study business.  Upon arriving at the University of Washington, Kutz changed his major to Computer Science and began being active in student leadership.  "It became obvious once I started classes, that the jobs of the future were more easily found in the field of computer science," Kutz said.   Kutz has become increasingly involved in socially minded tech organizations and is looking forward to a career that allows him to use his computer science degree and his leadership to make a difference in the world

This year Paulette Bauman will be our 2014 chairperson for the Luncheon.

Paulette Bauman makes community connections a priority in everything she does. While serving as a City of Woodinville Council member for the past 4 years she acted as liaison to the Northshore School District, the State Legislation Council and the Woodinville Chamber of Commerce. Bauman also served on the Fire District Joint Policy Board, Economic Development Committee, and Tourism Task Force.

Bauman is a longtime supporter of the Northshore Schoosl Foundation and serves as an ambassador to Woodinville High School, where her child attends.

Professionally, Bauman works as a sales associate for Click Wholesale Distributing, Fine Wine and Beer, where she serves the Woodinville Wine Community.
