Supporting All 1085 Classroom Teachers
What about the teachers who are not pursuing NBC?
The Foundation has made it a priority to support new Elementary School teachers by helping them build their classroom libraries. Classroom libraries are proven to support students in their literacy acquisition (and literacy is also a priority for the Foundation). In 2012 the Foundation donated $20,000 to build classroom libraries and in 2013 we are hoping to make another donation in this area.
Not a New teacher?
ALL Northshore teachers are eligible to apply for innovative classroom grant funds and applications will be available in January. The Foundation has funded 313 innovative classroom grants since its inception in 1995. Thanks to supporters like you, 41,000 students have benefited from those funds.
Well, we hate to be a stickler, but that 41,000 is slightly misleading: 41,000 students benefitted the first year each of those 313 grants was implemented. Most of those grants continued to support students for years and years after the initial allocation. So in reality, hundreds of thousands of youth have been affected by Foundation dollars... but who's counting?
Every Little Bit Helps!
With the help of in-kind sponsors like School Employees Credit Union and Bear Creek and Bothell Walgreens, the Foundation is able to make routine donations to support teachers with everyday and training day supplies like hand soap, kleenex and refreshments. These donations make it possible for schools to direct more money into the classroom while insuring that teachers have the things they need to be healthy and prepared to teach.
Make your end-of-the-year donation

and you can help us meet that goal!
