Supporting Teacher Excellence!

Quality instruction is a priority for the Northshore School District, and something we all value.

The National Board Teacher Certification is an advanced teaching credential awarded to teachers who successfully complete a "voluntary assessment program designed to recognize effective and accomplished teachers who meet high standards." To date, 70 NSD teachers have earned this distinction.

The Foundation is committed to supporting the cultivation of exceptional teachers by offering tuition reimbursement for the University of Washington Mentorship Support Program.

Milk Money: it's not just small change!
April, Davina, Sara and Ende

Thank you to hundreds of people  and retailers who made their change count!   With your help we were able to raise more than $6300 to support disadvantaged youth in our community.

During the month of May nearly 100 milk bottles adorned retail counters and desktops across the Northshore area, inspiring hundreds of people to contribute their spare change and make a big difference  for disadvantaged students in the Northshore School District.

The campaign raised more than $6300  in support of the Northshore Schools Foundation initiative to help Advanced and Disadvantaged Learners.  Funds are used to buy school clothes, school supplies , books, yearbooks and school pictures as well as cover test fees and other school related costs for the 180 homeless students in the district.

This year's campaign received a huge boost from the Winderemere Foundation, who partnered with the Windermere Northlake Office to provide $2500 in matching funds for the project.  We also want to send out a special thank you to the several community members who sought out the bottles in the community and made significant donations that allowed us to fully maximize the matching funds from the Windermere Foundation.   THANK YOU!

The Milk Money Campaign, in its second year is lead by Davina Williams Duerr, April Remfrey, Sara Solum Hayashi and Debbie Ledsham.
