GO Conference Reflections
Greetings!
Last Saturday leadership from the Biola chapter hosted the largest GO Conference to date. GO Conference, a bi-annual training day for high school students, is an exciting event that equips Bible club leadership to host outreach on their campus, gain legal knowledge about student's rights, and learn how to effectively share Jesus with their peers. Students from 20 high schools were represented last Saturday (pictured below).
A highlight from this spring's GO Conference was the attendance of special guest, a former NFL player, Leonard Larramore. Excitedly speaking in front of a captivated audience, Larramore shared his desire to be a resource as a motivational speaker for future outreach events for any Bible club interested.
Larramore circulated through 3 different classrooms packed with high school students to share about his eagerness to partner with them in their Gospel outreach efforts. Here's what he shared with the high school students;
"My name is Leonard Larramore and I played in the NFL for 2 teams, the Buffalo Bills and the Carolina Panthers...My main deal is that being a professional athlete I realized I have a responsibility; the way I made it to the NFL is because of the choices that I've made in life and I owe those choices to being a Christian. Serving God is the most wonderful gift in the world. It's my life, it's my passion. Playing football is just what I did - God used that as a platform to minister the Gospel.."
"If you can use me, I'd love to come and serve you and reach out to your students and leave a good impression to where you can follow up with them, and that way we can start filling the churches and the Bible studies with young people who want to know more about Jesus. I look forward to teaming with you. We're teammates. I'm used to the concept of team by being an NFL player, so I know protocol. I know what position I'm in and I'm staying in my line. Let's do this together".
Pray for all student leadership who attended GO Conference last Saturday as they begin to execute their rally plans in the weeks ahead. Pray that students would be able to partner with Larramore as a rally speaker this spring, and that the Gospel would effectively go out.
