Set Up A Website
"if you're not online you don't exist."
One of the very first investments you need to make when you start your new business is a website. The adage goes, "if you're not online you don't exist."
You do exist if you aren't online, but your potential customers will have a more difficult time finding you. The first place most people look for your goods or services is
Google; if you don't have a website they are not very likely to find you; they are likely to find your competition and you lose.
Building a website does not have to be a big expense. The more you are able to invest, the more involved and successful your site will be, but there are a number of places, like GoDaddy that have simple templates that you can do on your own by just cutting and pasting in the information that you want to include. The ISP you choose will often have a low cost service available to help you build your site. For a slightly larger investment you can find lots of design sources to create a site for you. For a little bit more you can have a completely custom site with dynamic graphics, multiple interfaces, and lots of other functions that make it very easy for people to do business with you. It will also offer full SEO optimization so it is easy to find with any search engine.
You may even choose to use a community site, like Facebook, for your web presence. They do have templates to help you create the right message. These sites are not as successful as websites, depending on your product, unless you spend a lot of time on them, but they are a good place to start and will have a positive impact for you.
