Are You Losing Business?
It has been said that every year you lose 10% of your customers to attrition. They may move to your competitors, no 10% longer need your services, or just plain move away. This means that your business will slow down and be gone in ten years.
You are in control of these loses. The solution is continuous marketing. You need to find new customers to replace the ones you are losing as well as new ones to grow your business.
It is time to evaluate what you are doing to attract customers, and if you are using the best avenues. There are lots of choices today for reaching out, some will match your mission and some are just a money pit because they don't match your audience. Among your choices are traditional direct mail, newspaper advertising, yellow pages, telephone soliciting, social media, contests and review sites, like Yelp.
For service companies, schools, and some retailers the best choice is networking. Remember, people like to do business with those they like and trust. The only successful way to build can t his trust is face to face. You should be going to mixers and meetings where you can build these relationships. Striking up a conversation when you are in line at the grocery store or in the bleachers at your kid's sporting events can also lead to new business.
The takeaway is that you should always be aware of opportunities for making new connections. These contacts are important to the health, and growth of your business.

Your Money-Your Life Shop Local Are you doing all of your shopping online, or going to that big mall out of town, or going to the mega-mart? None of these businesses are supporting your local community. The taxes you pay do come back to your county, but not to your city. When you shop locally you are supporting your neighbors an d your community. The Farmer's Market, the local independent shop, and the local service company are all contributing back directly to you and your community. This investment means you have nicer parks, more public activities, better libraries and museums. These are the things that make your community and neighborhood such nice places to live, raise your family, and enjoy life. |
