Still Baffled About Social Media?
Are you still baffled about the value of using Social Media for your business? There is so much information available that the process can be a daunting task. Your Social Media outreach takes attention and nurturing if it is going to work for you.
As with any project, the first thing you need is a plan. It is necessary to determine your objectives; what do you expect Social Media to do for you? Are you trying to build brand awareness, are you trying to improve your public image, or are you trying to ga ther leads to increase your business? It is very important to know where you are going before you start.
The next consideration is to determine which sites are good for you. There are so many choices, some appropriate and some not, that choosing the ones that don't target your market can become a real burden. This is the place where most businesses quit because they don't see the value in Social Media. Be sure you pick sites that target you audience. As a bonus join groups within the site that are even more specific to your needs.
Be sure that your posts truly reflect the personality of your company. Don't rely totally on reposts or jargon filled stuffy information to get your message across; it won't happen. Be as human and approachable as you can, a warm message goes a lot farther than a cool one.
My last, and most important suggestion is that you keep track of the reactions you are getting to your messages. Responses equal return on investment (ROI) and are the only reason for you using Soc ial Media. There are a lot of tools available (Google Analytics and Facebook Insights are two familiar ones) to help you quantify your responses.
If your ROI numbers are not meeting your expectations it is time to evaluate whether you are using the right sights or uploading valuable content for your customers. Experiment a little until you find a system that works for you.
