The holidays are a good time to set up your charitable plan for a day, month or year. Think about what charities you want to support and volunteer for, how much money or time you can give and when you can give. Keep in mind that the season is also rife with charitable scams, so be sure to thoroughly research an organization before you write a check.

Creating Content

Among the latest buzzwords is "creative content."  What is "creative content"?  It also may be called "compelling content" but it is still the same thing, and a very important part of your marketing package. There is so much information on the internet that yours must be "compelling" to attract an audience.

With so many of us writing blogs today, and other published works, it is imperative that everything we write is timely, relevant, thoughtful, and informative, accuracy goes without saying, funny is a plus.

In order to be fully engaging you need to do a little homework before you start posting.  First, you have to identify the reason for your Blog, and who are you trying to reach with your message.  You should create a schedule of what you are going to post and when and where you are going to post it.  You will also need a way to measure your responses.  If you are not getting the responses that you expected you will have to go back to the drawing board to refine your approach.  Having a good plan makes changing and updating much easier than just being random in your approach.

For many people the big question is what to write.   The easy answer is; write what you know.  This could be an article about your industry, a How To article, a Review or your opinion of other author's work, or, maybe, a call to action.  handwriting Your area of expertise is probably a mystery to outsiders so whatever you write will be of interest.  Writing a benefit analysis of common news stories may interest a lot of readers as does Community news.  Just be careful to avoid stale news or controversies that you haven't fully researched; you don't want to invite negative reactions.

Keeping your writing informative and interesting will build a following that you can tap into to grow your business and help you succeed.

Your Money - Your Life

"TO DO -  FOR ME"

We are constantly making "TO DO" lists of our chores and errands.  The goal is to feel better each time you cross off a project as finished.  These lists can be overwhelming.

On the other hand, we lament that we never have time for ourselves.  With our children, our spouse, our friends, and work we are torn in a million different directions.

Now is the time to take charge and create a "TO DO FOR ME" List.  This is the list of the activities that you would like to do just for adventure, or for fun.  Some of the items on your list may be repeated on your "Bucket List", but that's OK; you might be able to get to them sooner rather than later.

There are no rules for what should be included on your list.  Here are some choices you might want to explore, but they are no way mandatory.

  1. This is the time to join your friends on their     adventures.  Maybe you can ask them to hold your hand while you try something new.
  2. Are there places in your Community that you have never explored; or maybe a new restaurant to try?
  3. Have you always wanted to try skiing or scuba diving?  What's holding you back?  Time is not an excuse.
  4. What was your favorite activity when you were young?  You can recreate the frivolity and joy you felt then by trying something similar now.

Maybe the only thing you crave is alone time.  That is the easiest "To Do" on your list.  Just carve out some time on your calendar, in writing, to your the world know that you will not be available at that time.  You may hear a few grumbles at first, but if you are insistent you will find that your being relaxed makes your whole world run more smoothly.
