Our Yard Sale Prep Week is next week!

And we need everyone's help!  Each day during the prep week, from 10 am - 9 pm, the church will be open for members to come by to help price and sort.  You can come by whenever it's convenient for you, help out in any department you'd like and stay for as little or as long as you'd like anytime during the week.  And, we still need help staffing several of our departments during the day of the Yard Sale! 


You can also help by printing and posting our Yard Sale flyer near your home or work.  

 

In addition to bringing your treasures for the Yard Sale, we can also use any large boxes you might have lying around (we use them to sort and organize clothing). 

If you've missed being here before on the week before Yard Sale, you've also missed out on a great  opportunity!  The week before Yard Sale is one of the most energetic weeks we have at the church all year.  As folks show up to help price and sort (and also you get to pre-shop if you help price and sort!), people in the congregation get to know one another, build friendships with one another and work together for a great cause.  Also, if you're here in the evening, you can share in great food led each night by our Grillmasters who will have food grilling in the evenings for those who are working around the dinner hour (5:30-7 pm).

 

Please come by and help whenever you can!

 

FOOD DOYard Sale kidsNATIONS NEEDED.... Another way to help is by donating food to serve during the day of the sale. The donation list is near the door in the narthex. We are short on hamburgers, hot dogs and donuts. The Health inspector will have nothing to do but eat donuts if we don't have meat to BBQ!  If you're working during prep week or dropping off your valuables, please sign up to bring something. We need everything in by Friday afternoon (May 29) or we have to make a Costco run.   Your donations are much appreciated!  

A number of people always ask about having larger items picked up.  Right now, we still need a few more people willing to be part of the truck pick-up crew.  If you can help, please sign up online or contact I.J. Hudson.  While we can't promise that we'll be able to pick up everything, we still hope to have a limited ability to pick up larger items. If you'd like to donate an item which requires pick-up, please contact the church office by email or at 301-869-3666. Forms acknowledging donations are also available by contacting the church office.

 

We also always need people to help clean up after the Yard Sale (beginning about 1:30 pm).  This includes getting leftover items ready to donate to charities, as well as making sure things are neat and clean for the 5 pm Saturday service!  If you can help, please sign up online.
