There is an application process. All approved families will be forwarded to an agency for possible consideration. Host families are paid a stipend each month to host a student. These stipends range from $400-$800 month depending on the agency. Please refer to the website for more details on this exciting new program. Let's bring the world to Finney next year! From the President
Dear Students,
We had the privilege of welcoming many new faces to the Finney Family this school year. It is encouraging to see our school growing right before our eyes. I truly believe this is due in large part to the students we have in our school. The example you set in and outside the classroom is critical to developing a positive reputation in the Rochester community. I continue to hear high praise from those who encounter Finney students and alumni outside of these walls. People do see the difference in you when they visit our school. I know that difference is rooted in the relationships that most of our students have with Christ. Your faith sets you apart from your peers who have not yet encountered Christ.
We have room for many more in our school. Who better than you can share your story and experiences of Finney? When you share your story you may find that those you come in contact with may want to become a part of this wonderful place, a place where they will sense the love of Christ.
Regardless of whether this was your first or last year at Finney I hope that your days spent within these walls were filled with more good days that bad ones, that you laughed and smiled more than you found yourself feeling down or alone and most importantly you feel like you grew academically and spiritually.
Thank you for a great year and remember at least the first three words of this year's scripture verse "God is able...". He is able and will enable you to Do Something Greater to advance His Kingdom whenever you have the opportunity.
Enjoy your summer.
Blessings,
Mr. VanLeeuwen
President

 | From the High School Principal |
Congratulations to our graduates! This year's valedictorian honor goes to Cassandra Kenville. Cassandra plans to attend Grove City College where she will study PreK-4 General Education! The 2014 salutatorian honor goes to Kelley Bierkortte. Kelley plans on attending the Fashion Institute of Technology for marketing and advertising communications!
Just a reminder, Senior Banquet will be held at Glendoveers (2328 Old Browncroft Rd., Rochester, NY 14625) on Thursday, June 5th at 6 PM. Seniors, don't forget, graduation rehearsal is required! It will be held on Friday, June 6th at 10:00 AM at Bethel.
There is one exciting change happening in the high school next year. Mr. Perry will be teaching History and Dr. Burch is switching to Bible! We trust God's direction as He uses our talents and gifts to shape Finney for His glory.
As we head off to enjoy the summer months and walk the path God has for us, let us remember Joshua 1:9 "...Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go."
Blessings for a great summer vacation! Mrs. LyonHigh School Principal |

 | Development Office Update |
The Wegmans LPGA Championship is coming to Monroe Golf Club in Pittsford August 11-17. The Charles Finney School has the opportunity to provide volunteers for this prestigious golf event AND raise more than $3,000 to purchase much needed sports equipment for the school's athletic program. This is the last year the LPGA will come to Rochester so Finney only has this year to take full advantage of this fundraising opportunity.
How can I help?
Commit four hours of your time to volunteer between August 11 and 17.
How does it work?
For every 4 hour volunteer position filled, Finney will receive $20. There are 160 volunteer positions that need to be filled over the seven days. That is A LOT of volunteers!
Who can help?
Anyone 18 years and older is able to volunteer. Encourage your friends, extended family, and co-workers to sign up to volunteer.
When are the dates and times?
Monday, August 11 through Sunday, August 17. Four hour shifts start as early as 6:00 a.m. The latest volunteer shift ends at 8:30 p.m.
What will I do?
You could serve as a cook, a cashier, set-up, stock or serve at the food counter.
What will I receive?
For every four hour volunteer shift, you will receive a meal voucher and access to the grounds on that day. If you serve three or more four-hour shifts, you will receive a meal voucher for each shift and access to the grounds for the entire week. It's a SWEET deal and a great way to see the LPGA Championship before it leaves the Rochester community!
Who do I contact?
Priscila DeBonis, Athletic Committee Chair, at (585) 719-7964 or prisciladebonis@icloud.com
Charity Curtis, Administrative Assistant, at (585) 387-3770 ext. 232 or ccurtis@finneyschool.org.
Is there a deadline to register as a volunteer?
All volunteer positions must be filled by June 19th. After this date, all unfilled volunteer positions will be forfeited and Finney loses the opportunity to receive full funding.
We need your help! Please sign up today.
Serving in Christ,
Mrs. Roman
Director of Development

 | Annual Appeal: Top Fundraising Priority |
Dear Families and Friends:
The Annual Appeal is the Charles Finney School's top fundraising priority. Your support last year enabled us to begin this school year with the highest enrollment in six years. Your continued support will help Finney to continue to increase enrollment, prepare students for academic achievement and community service, and transform young lives!
With the increase in enrollment this year, we believe that the Lord's divine plan for every student enrolled at Finney has brought them into our community of students and teachers. Personally speaking, I have seen students' lives transformed within days of arriving at The Charles Finney School. Our smaller classes, classroom structure, and caring community provide students with the appropriate environment for spiritual and personal growth as well as academic success.
Your donation to the Annual Appeal will support the transformation of students, enabling them to fulfill the Lord's plan for their lives. Sixty-five percent of Finney's student body requires some form of need-based financial aid. Half of these students are from the Rochester City School District, the worst performing school district in all of New York State. These are families who want a better academic alternative for their children. Finney's mission is to enroll any academically-qualified student who seeks a Christian education regardless of their family's financial circumstances. We believe that to do otherwise will have long-term negative consequences on the students, their families, our community and ultimately the world.
All donations to the Annual Appeal give us the ability to continue to improve the campus and academics. Finney has added a new state-of-the-art science laboratory for middle and high school student and now offers a greater number of college-credit electives. The K-8 science curriculum has additional labs and more hands-on learning opportunities. Recent upgrades to our facilities include a renovated cafeteria, which enables students and faculty to gather as a school community. Our students continue to participate in mission outreach opportunities within the United States and around the globe.
Your donation at this time is critical to the overall success of The Charles Finney School and each of its 275 students. And do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased. (NIV Hebrews 13:16)
Let us thank you in advance for your support of the Annual Appeal. You can make your gift on line at www.finneyschool.org/support. Our thanks to those who have already made their donation to the Annual Appeal.
Serving in Christ,
Mr. VanLeeuwen
President
