You can't have missed the onslaught of diet companies at the moment urging you to lose weight for Christmas - indeed, LighterLife central marketing are doing the same thing, but, what about after Christmas? What about after the weight is shed, what then? This is where LighterLife is unique because we actually consider the weight loss stage to be the "pre-work", the start of the real work is keeping the weight off.
So, how does it work and why is it so different from anything else out there? Well, the LighterLife Lifestyle Change Programme (not just a diet) works in three key stages:
Stage One:
Weight loss. If you have a BMI of 28+ you do the Total Abstinence Programme where you use our high quality nutritionally complete foodpacks for your nutrition which enables you to safely drop down to a 600 calorie a day intake which burns the weight off quickly. They are simple to use, quick to prepare, a choice of 17 different flavours and there is no weighing, measuring or adding up to worry about. Alongside this you receive weekly group counselling in small numbers of same sex, same Programme clients to help you retain a healthy balance with food. If your BMI is below 30 you have the option of the Lite version of the Programme where you drop down to between 800-1000 calories a day by having 75% of your daily nutrition from foodpacks and one simple meal.
Stage Two:
Once you are at your healthy BMI (between 20-25 which for most people is a difference of around 1.5 stones, so no prescriptive "Goal Weight" to stick to) you switch to the Management phases where you gradually drop the number of foodpacks you are taking and reintroduce food a food group at a time whilst receiving a full education about nutrition, GI, how to calculate he right portion sizes for your body, how to plan and cook healthily, and a whole lot more.
Stage Three:
The start of the real journey, keeping the weight off. If you have committed fully to the Programme you now know a whole lot more about yourself and your relationship with food and the areas you need to focus on changing. You have a wealth of nutritional knowledge from the management phases, now you need to put it all into practice. But, you are not alone. You still have access to me six days a week for guidance and support, you can use the Ladies Management group on a Tuesday evening, or the Men's group on a Tuesday afternoon for additional counselling, you have access to a range of Management foods and can buy the foodpacks in ad hoc amounts to help you weight maintain. All the support you can think of is there, you just need to access it.
