Hi everyone, 
This weekend is predicted to be the warmest weekend in the year so far. Spring is only 23 days away and already the spring bulbs are in bloom in my garden. All great news as we move away from grey, dismal weather. However, how do you feel about the warmer weather and moving into "summer" clothes? Lighter clothing tends not to be quite such effective "camouflage" as "winter" clothing can be? Perhaps you've got a summer wedding or a holiday that you would like to look slim and fabulous for? Have a look at the images of Heidi, Ana and Rob below who made the decision to shift those unwanted pounds and lost a staggering 33 stones between them on the Total Programme.
In the last newsletter I wrote an overview of the Programme to give you a "taster" and hopefully clarified why this isn't "just another diet" and I've decided to keep that in this newsletter as well as there are several new readers this month. If you want to read anything that I've ever written in other newsletters then just click on Previous Newsletters at the bottom of this one.
In this newsletter I've highlighted the different Foodpacks you can choose from so you can see the variety we offer, as well as other products. A long way from just "soups and shakes"!

I run free Initial Appointments twice a week at 3.30pm and 6.00pm on a Wednesday and can arrange other day time appointments if required. CURRENT PRODUCT RANGE
LighterLife put a lot of time and effort into producing tasty and varied foodpacks. Some favourites remain, like Chocolate, Banana and Strawberry, but others are regularly introduced.
This is the current range on offer:

HOW DOES THE PROGRAMME WORK - WHY IS IT MORE THAN "JUST ANOTHER DIET"?
The LighterLife Total and Lite Programmes work in three stages:
STAGE ONE:
This is the weight loss stage. During this stage you either Totally abstain from normal food and take 100% of your nutrition from four Foodpacks a day, or, if your BMI is 29.9 or lower and your opt for the higher calorie Lite Programme you would have three foodpacks a day plus a meal from our guidelines.
As well as the foodpacks, you also attend group counselling once a week with myself in a relaxed, comfortable environment, where I use my skills, training and experience as a Counsellor to help clients understand their relationship with food more and how to accept the changes that are necessary to not only lose weight but keep it off.
STAGE TWO:
Once you are at your healthy BMI (between 20 and 25 - we don't do "goal weight" as it's too prescriptive and therefore not realistic. The client decides where they feel most comfortable within the healthy range which is usually a range of 1.5 stones difference between 20 and 25), you move to the Management Stages. There are eight stages and as you move through them you reduce the number of foodpacks you have a day and start to reintroduce food a food group at a time. During this stage you also receive a whole education about nutrition, GI principles, and how to gauge the right portion sizes for your body as well as frequency of eating and drinking so that once you have completed this stage you know considerably more both about yourself (from Stage One) and food to make the necessary changes that will help you keep the weight off.
STAGE THREE
Most diets only focus on weight loss. LighterLife see weight loss as only being the start - the main work takes place now because this is the stage when you keep it off! This is when many make the mistake of not applying their learning (thinking that they have just "finished another diet" instead of accepting that they have just been through a whole education and now need to apply their learning) and return to old habits. The opportunity you have at their stage is to use LighterLife to help you keep it off. You have access to your own group every week which you attend as and when you wish, you can buy ad hoc amounts of foodpacks to help you weight maintain (eg one a day for breakfast or two a day for a breakfast and a snack) and as much advice as you need either on the phone, via email or at a Management group session.
So LighterLife is not "just another diet", it is a Lifestyle Change Programme where you can choose to learn much more about yourself, your relationship with food and more about food itself and how it works in your body. But, rather like just sitting in a car doesn't make you a driver, you need to learn and apply that learning in order to become a skilled weight maintainer.

LIGHTERLIFE GROUPS - WHICH ONE IS THE ONE FOR YOU?
At LighterLife here in Loughborough we offer a full range of groups to suit all clients, but, sometimes which one is right for you can be confusing. The groups will follow either the Total abstinence Programme or the low calorie Lite Programme. Men and women have their own groups. So, here is a description of each group and who it suits.
Each group gives you at least an hour of group counselling every week as well as on-going support whenever you need it during the rest of the week. There are also pop in times available every day Monday to Thursday to aid flexibility if you cannot get to a group time for whatever reason, but, the key to success on LighterLife is to aim to attend the majority of sessions to learn more about your relationship with food - otherwise you will only be doing a diet!
LADIES TOTAL FOR NEW CLIENTS - Tuesday 7.00pm to 8.30pm
This group is for new female clients with a BMI of 28 or higher who have never been a client of LighterLife before. Currently there are five places available in this group. You must attend an Initial Appointment with me before you can join. Call me to book one.
LADIES RETURNER - Monday 2.00pm to 3.3.0pm NEW!!, or Monday 5.30pm to 7.00pm or Wednesday 7.00pm to 8.30pm
These groups are for ladies who, for whatever reason, have left the Programme early before completing, or, have completed but have found a few pounds creep back on and want a more structured environment than the Management group to lose the weight. You can follow either the Total or Lite Programme in this group and you can stay in the group for as many consecutive weeks as you wish.
You can join any week.
LADIES MANAGEMENT AND LITE- Tuesday 5.30pm to 6.55pm NEW TIME!!
This group is for ladies who are currently going through the Management Phases or who are doing the Lite low calorie Programme or are Life Members, i.e. those who have completed the entire Programme of weight loss and all the Management phases and are using the group for on-going support to help them maintain their weight loss.
LADIES FOUR WEEK COMMITMENT GROUP - Monday 7.15pm to 8.45pm
This group is for returning Ladies who want to commit to a full four weeks on the Total Programme. The commitment is made by paying for the four Weekly Fees up front and then attending each of the four weekly sessions and purchasing a full 28 foodpacks each week. This group is available to any ex-clients and Life Members, but, not to any of have previously enrolled on a specific time period group such as this, or a Bootcamp, and failed to complete the number of weeks they committed to.
Next 4 week commitment due to commence 30th March.
(N.B. Enrol early for this group as it is very popular - places go fast and are limited to11)
MEN'S GROUP - Tuesday 2.00pm to 3.30pm NEW TIME!!
This is for all Men regardless of status. You can start any week, but, once you start the commitment is to purchase a Weekly Fee and 28 foodpacks every consecutive week with no missed weeks. The only exceptions to this are for Life Members who can purchase any amount of foodpacks and attend whenever they wish, and those undertaking the Management Phases where the number of foodpacks relates to the stage they are at.
You can join any week.
