There is a very interesting mix of attitudes to weight loss during December.  One attitude is that "Why bother - I'll only put weight on over Christmas, so I'll start a "diet" in January".  The other attitude is "Why does the date matter?  I've decided to lose weight and get fit, so what if Christmas is only a few weeks away - I could have lost a stone by then!".  Which attitude do you think is ultimately the most successful when it comes to losing weight and keeping it off?  The first statement which is already predicting over-eating and over-drinking and returning to old bad habits, or the second statement which is looking to change habits and lose weight regardless of what the date is.  Weight loss is not all about calories and what the scales say - it is also about how you think, how you view events in your life and your reactions to them.  Get that bit right and the weight not only drops off but stays off!

 

The next Four Week Ladies Total Programme is due to re-open on 8th December for any past client or Life Member who has tried on their Christmas party outfit and feels it could be a bit looser??  Four weeks on Total will help you shed at least one stone and that usually means one dress size, and there couldn't be a better time.  At time of sending this newsletter there are still five places left, so, drop me a line or call me to secure yourself a place (not available to anyone who previously signed up for a fixed time period and didn't complete).

 

If you haven't already seen the story in my Facebook page or in the Press I've also put into this newsletter the wonderful achievement by Ana of a 19 stone weight loss and a life re-born.  See below.

 

Plus, I've got a new earlier pop in time for the winter months to enable clients to get to me whilst it is still light as many don't like driving in the dark.  Pop ins Monday Tuesday and Thursday are now 4pm to 5.30pm, Wednesday is 4.30pm to 6pm and there is a later pop in on a Thursday from 7pm to 7.30pm.

ANA WAS SO FRIGHTENED OF DYING IN HER SLEEP WHEN SHE WAS 32 STONES SHE LOST 19 STONES

Ana Sirbu's weight reached 32 stone whilst working as a pizza chef on night shifts in a takeaway.


 

It got to the stage where the 28-year-old was unable to leave the house and was struggling to breathe, with her boyfriend having to wake her to check she was breathing in the night.

 

Ana, from York, said: "My weight affected everything in my life. I couldn't do the housework; I couldn't even walk to the corner shop to buy a loaf of bread.

"I even got turned down for a job because of my size - the manager telling me that they couldn't have anyone working in their kitchen as big as me.

"Although I knew that I needed to do something about my weight for some time, the turning point was definitely a fear for my health. I was so depressed and exhausted, I got to the point where I couldn't even leave the house.

 

At 32 stone, I struggled to sleep, so much so that my boyfriend would have to wake up in the middle of the night just to check that I was still alive.

"It was a really scary time for everyone."

 

 

She began to struggle with her weight after leaving her home country of Romania and she said working 12 hour night shifts left her very stressed and drove her to eat.

She said she "simply ate the wrong things at the wrong time", eating as she worked at night time and having pizza at 5am in the morning.

 

She lost the weight on the LighterLife Total Programme 

It saw her drop 18 stone in 12 months and then last year she lost a final stone through healthy eating. Ana said her father wept when he saw her on her return to Romania.

"The time before last that I saw my father I promised him that the next time he would see me that I would be a completely different person and I didn't let him down,"she said.

"When I saw him last year after I had lost the weight - he just started crying. I was still his daughter, but a million times happier and healthier.

 

"Before I lost the weight I felt trapped in my own body - I couldn't be myself as I couldn't move or do anything I wanted to do. But now I feel free. I go jogging every day which I absolutely love, I can't believe that I struggled to even walk around my house before. I go bike riding and I absolutely love to dance."

 

Few people have this much weight to lose, so if Ana can lose 19 stones you can lose the stones that are holding you back as well!

LIGHTERLIFE GROUPS - WHICH ONE IS THE ONE FOR YOU?

  

At LighterLife here in Loughborough we offer a full range of groups to suit all clients, but, sometimes which one is right for you can be confusing.  The groups will follow either the Total abstinence Programme and/or the low calorie Lite Programme.  So, here is a description of each group and who it suits.


 

Each group gives you at least an hour of group counselling every week as well as on-going support whenever you need it during the rest of the week.  There are also pop in times available every day Monday to Thursday to aid flexibility if you cannot get to a group time for whatever reason, but, the key to success on LighterLife is to aim to attend the majority of sessions to learn more about your relationship with food - otherwise you will only be doing a diet!


 

LADIES TOTAL - Tuesday 7.00pm to 8.30pm

  

This group is for new female clients with a BMI of 28 or higher who have never been a client of LighterLife before.  Currently just one place available in this group.  You must attend an Initial Appointment with me before you can join.  Call me to book one. 

  

 

LADIES REFRESHER - Monday 5.30pm to 7.00pm or Wednesday 7.00pm to 8.30pm

 

This group is for ladies who, for whatever reason, have left the Programme early before completing, or, have completed but have found a few pounds creep back on and want a more structured environment than the Management group to lose the weight.  You can follow either the Total or Lite Programme in this group and you can stay in the group for as many consecutive weeks as you wish.   

 
You can join any week. 

  

LADIES MANAGEMENT AND LITE- Thursday 5.30pm to 7.00pm


 

  
 This group is for ladies who are currently going through the Management Phase or who are doing the Lite low calorie Programme or are Life Members, i.e. those who have completed the entire Programme of weight loss and all the Management phases.


 

  

LADIES FOUR WEEK COMMITMENT GROUP - Monday 7.15pm to 8.45pm

  

This group is for Ladies who want to commit to a full four weeks on the Total Programme.  The commitment is made by paying for the four Weekly Fees up front and then attending each of the four weekly sessions and purchasing a full 28 foodpacks each week.  This group is available to any ex-clients and Life Members, but, not to any of have previously enrolled on a specific time period group such as this, or a Bootcamp, and failed to complete the number of weeks they committed to.

  

Next 4 week commitment due to commence 8th December.

(N.B. Enrol early for this group as it is very popular - places go fast and at time of going to press, there are just 5 places left out of the 11)

  

MEN'S GROUP - Tuesday 5.30pm to 6.45pm

  

This is for all Men regardless of status.  You can start any week, but, once you start the commitment is to purchase a Weekly Fee and 28 foodpacks every consecutive week with no missed weeks.  The only exceptions to this are for Life Members who can purchase any amount of foodpacks and attend whenever they wish, and those undertaking the Management Phases where the number of foodpacks relates to the stage they are at.

  

You can join any week.
