MYTH VS FACT 

 

 

MYTH:

 

I want to join LighterLife but I can't because my BMI is below 25.

 

FACT:

 

This certainly was true in the past, but, we now have LighterLife FAST which enables you to purchase sufficient foodpacks each week or month in order to spend two days a week Fasting with foodpacks and five days eating normally.

 

 

HOW TO THINK DIFFERENTLY    

   

 

 

Those of you who have experienced the counselling side of the LighterLife Programmes will know how important it is to challenge negative, destructive, unhelpful ways of thinking and replace them with calm, rational, common sense thoughts that are based in reality.

 

I came across this video and speech on YouTube by David Foster Wallace which I think encapsulates this brilliantly.

 

It is part of a speech to graduating students to help ease them into "real life" after graduation.

Walk to Work Week

 

Did you know that this week is Walk To Work Week?  Here are some benefits that come with stretching your legs.

 

1. Keeps your joints in good condition. Some exercise can cause joint problems, but walking is more likely to remove the aches and pains.

  

2. Increase fitness. Walk for half an hour a day as if you were late for an appointment and you will start to really feel the difference after a few weeks.

  

3. Lose weight.  Walking burns between 195 and 307 calories per hour.  A great way to contribute to your weight loss.

 

4.  Feel good.  Spending more time outside walking increases the time your skin is exposed to sunshine, therefore creating Vitamin D. Vitamin D is essential for healthy bones and is known as the "feel good" vitamin as it helps lift low mood.

 

5.  Time to socialise?  If you don't want to walk alone, join a walking club and make new friends.

 

Key tips for healthy walking:

 

i.  Wear comfortable, well fitting walking shoes.

ii.  Drink plenty of water and take a bottle of water with you.

iii. Take a mobile phone if walking alone in a remote area.

After successfully dealing with her problems with alcohol, Denise has now decided to do the same thing with her weight ahead of her wedding in July.  To do this she has decided to use LighterLife because of its proven success rate and, more importantly, it's Cognitive Behavioural Therapy based counselling sessions which help clients to understand their relationship with food.

Pre-Summer "Boot Camp" for Returning Clients
  
Would you like to let go of up to two stones for the summer?
 
  

 

Starting Wednesday 22nd May from 7.00-8.30pm for either Total or Lite.

 

We are starting an 8 week programme for anyone wanting to return to LighterLife and get back on track before the summer!

 

We will not be working from the module books but we will have various activities to enhance your journey such as: goal setting, tools and techniques, mindless to mindful, fun & joy, moving on, etc.

 

This programme is for a set period of only 8 weeks and therefore requires your commitment to all sessions.  Please only sign up to the Programme if you are 100% ready.  This programme is not a... "I'll do it but I am eating on X day and X day!"... It requires your full commitment and at the end of the 8 weeks you will be up to 2 stones lighter.  Jus imagine how that will feel this summer?

 

All atttendees must be medically eligible.  Each week costs £15 per session plus 21 foodpacks for Lite or 28 foodpacks for Total (you determine which you will follow before the start.  You can't switch between the two).

 

Payment - commit to the 8 weeks by paying all the session fees up front (£120) and receive either a free drink or mousse mix, then just buy your foodpacks each week for 8 weeks.

New Foodpack
  
The newest foodpack flavour in our range is going to be - Spaghetti Bolognese:

Commenting on the new Spaghetti Bolognese Foodpack, LighterLife's nutritionist Susannah Haynes said: "We're really excited about the launch of this new Foodpack. We've spent months testing it to ensure it has all the flavour of a typical Spaghetti Bolognese but without the calories. It's a great new addition to our LighterLife Foodpack range."

 

"The Spaghetti Bolognese Foodpack can be enjoyed on LighterLife Total or Lite. It also makes a fully nutritious meal for those on LighterLife Fast - as part of their 5:2 intermittent fasting plan," says Susannah.

 

Each Foodpack provides at least ¼ of your recommended daily allowance (RDA) for vitamins and minerals, making them the perfect way to lose weight. And because they contain high-quality soya/milk protein they're also all suitable for vegetarians.

 

The Spaghetti Bolognese Foodpack will be launched in early June.
