MYTH:
I've heard you have to wait for ages to join LighterLife and get started. I want to get started NOW!
FACT:
Since LighterLife have introduced self certification for both Total and Lite, new clients (and returning clients whose medical authorisation has expired) can complete a Wellness Profile and self certify.
If you are a brand new client at an initial appointment, you can start that day and then attend a Wednesday night Starters Group up until your chosen group re-opens.
The only clients who will still need to visit their GP to seek approval will be those with either an existing medical condition such as Type II Diabeties, or, those who are on a medication that requires monitoring.

CREDIT AND DEBIT CARDS
As clients know I offer several different forms of payment, the most popular being my credit and debit card machine. However, what you may not know is that everytime a client pays with a card I get charged a percentage of the amount they spend with me.
I don't pass this charge on as I want to provide my clients with payment options, however, there are certain cards which have become very expensive for me to accept and therefore I will no longer be able to accept the following cards:
- Business and Corporate Debit and Credit Cards
- Visa Premium
- International Electron
- American Express
All other Debit and Credit cards however I am still happy to take, at no additional charge to yourselves. |

Swimming Top Tips
Swimming makes you hungry, so, make sure you take a healthy snack, or foodpack, to eat afterwards - don't waste the effort you've just put in by raiding the vending machine!
You may not realise how much you sweat while you swim, so it's important to keep hydrated. Put a bottle of water at the end of your lane to sip between sets.
Set goals! Increase the number of lengths each week or change your stroke. If a workout is challenging and interesting, you're more likely to come back for more. |

Hi everyone,
Do you think we dare hope that Spring has finally arrived? I don't know about you but I was getting very bored with an extended winter.
Key news for this newsletter:
* The FREE Registration has been extended to 31st May saving newcomers £15.
* LighterLife is introducing their own version of Fasting. This will be for anyone who has a BMI of between 20 and 27.9 and wants to maintain their weight by Fasting for 2 days out of every 7 using foodpacks. They don't need to have previously been a LighterLife client. See more below.
Plus, a catch up with a client who is successfully weight maintaining six months after completing her Total Programme.

LighterLife FAST for Successful Weight Maintaining
On May 2nd LighterLife is going to launch a brand new concept: LighterLife Fast.
Fasting is where people eat normally for five days and then Fast for two days in order to maintain a healthy weight and is becoming increasingly popular. LighterLife is promoting the use of its foodpacks for a safe, nutritious way to Fast for two days rather than just drinking water or fruit juice which are the more traditional forms for Fasting.
Anyone who has a BMI of between 20 and 27.9 and is aged between18-69 years old and is not currently following a Programme can do Fast.* You do not have to be a past client.
Customers who have not been, or are not currently a LighterLife client don't actually become a client, they will use us like a high street shop during Pop In times** to purchase their foodpacks. There is no membership, records or weigh in or weight records kept (the only time we would weigh a Fast client is if we wanted to check their BMI), purely purchasing of foodpacks (max 8 per week).
*They will need to complete a quick health questionnaire, but providing they are not pregnant, not breastfeeding, do not have Diabetes (either Type 1 or Type 2), have no other significant medical history and are not on any medications, they can buy the foodpacks.
There are no "freebies" i.e. shaker, bag etc, but, they can buy a Start Up Kit consisting of a Shaker, a Water Flavouring of their choice and the Little Book of LighterLife Fast for £15 if they so wish.
This option is also available to any client who is a LighterLife member and has completed the Programme (i.e. all the way through to the end of the Management stages) has a BMI of between 20 and 27.9 and wants to use Fast to weight maintain.
** Pop in times are Monday 5.00-5.30pm, Tuesday 5.00-5.30pm, Wednesday 5.00-6.00pm, Thursday 5.00-5.30pm and 7.00-7.30pm.

Successfully Weight Maintaining
As we all know, it's all very well losing the weight, but then you've got to keep it off! I thought therefore that it might be useful to catch up with a client who completed the Programme several months ago to see how she was doing and to hear in her own words how she is weight maintaining.

"I have been successfully maintaining my weight loss now for the past six months. It can sometimes be quite challenging experimenting with reintroducing foods but the key for me is to keep an eye on portion sizes. If I fancy a cake, dessert or alcohol I have a small amount and share with my partner. If I think I have gone over, the next day I will have a shake or snack bar.
I'm really enjoying my new "physique" and to be able to choose any clothes and know they will look great. My self esteem is still on a high and I enjoy getting compliments constantly. My BMI at the start of my Programme was an obese 31, by completion it was down to a healthy 23.9 and since I left it has continued to drop to a 'super healthy' 22.4!
I recently went to a formal occasion and wore a long sequinned fitted red dress (see above). I looked and felt amazing!!
To keep me focussed, I regularly attend the free pop in sessions to get weighed to make sure I am still managing my new weight well . I always ensure I have a replacement option when I go out.

Group Availability
