At this time of year I have a lot of Life Members (those clients who have achieved their healthy BMI and completed all of the stages of Phase One Management) who either want to lose a few pounds acquired over Christmas, or, who want a New Year detox.
These clients have two options;
1. Either, Purchase foodpacks and keep an eye on your weight at pop ins. These are 5.00-5.30pm every day Monday through to Thursday with an extra one on a Thursday from 7.00-7.30pm, and/or
2. Come to either the Ladies Management group on a Thursday from 5.30pm to 7.00pm or the Mens group on a Tuesday from 5.30pm-6.45pm for additional counselling, when you can also purchase foodpacks.
Life Members get one free counselling session a month (assuming no purchases of either foodpacks or management foods) or a free session for every 7+ foodpacks purchased. | |

Healthy News and Advice
Obesity is one of the main causes of cancer. The World Cancer Research Fund recently published a report stating that excess fat is the second biggest cause of cancer after smoking. It's thought that high levels of fat can "feed" cancer by disrupting the body's balance of hormones. It was calculated that keeping a healthy weight could prevent around 22,000 cases every year in the UK .

Hi everyone,
Welcome to 2013 and all the opportunities that a New Year brings.
LighterLife have gone "Retro"
so look out for this new branding in the press. In particular the work we are going to be doing with the Telegraph's Sunday magazine, Stella, which starts on the 20th January.
We've also got a brand new TV ad. Have a click on it below and let me know what you think of it? You'll notice it only refers to Lite, that is because the Advertising Standards Agency won't let us advertise Total because there "isn't enough evidence it works" (pause for hysterical laughter). As those of you who have experienced LighterLife know, it certainly does work and if you apply the learning you can keep slim long term - see both the local and national success stories below for testimonies from those who have done so.

As I reported in the December 2012 newsletter, LighterLife has become much, much easier to join now with hardly any clients needing to have their GP's approval to join making the joining process much faster and cheaper. See all the details in "How to Join" below.

A 2012 Success Story from Loughborough

Meet Kris. Kris joined LighterLife in Loughborough in June 2012 with an obese BMI of 31. By August 2012 she was at a healthy BMI and started the Management stages which she completed by 1st November at a super healthy BMI of 22.8, a weight loss of nearly four stones. This is her story in her own words :
"My weight loss journey started in June 2012. I had previously tried all the other diet only regimes but wanted to change my whole mind and body philosophy. I researched Lighter Life Total and was determined to make it work for me. I was shocked at the first weigh in with a BMI of 31 and my weight over 14 stone!! The "diet" side of the Programme was simple. I knew I could only have the four replacement meals a day and nothing else except water, tea and coffee.
Determination, motivation and mind set is crucial. I went on four holidays abroad between June and October and took all my meal replacements with me. When I went to restaurants I ordered water and coffee. The weight loss weekly was amazing and gradual. The health benefits also began to show. I had more energy, felt so well and "alive". My skin was smoother, no cellulite.
My Counsellor, Debbie, was always motivational and the group all succeeded within a few weeks of each other.
The Management phase teaches the re introduction of food, portion sizes and the importance of eating at regular times. It is also important to have a Plan B if going out so you have choice. Therefore I never go anywhere without something to eat if the choices whilst out are not healthy.
My body image is very important to me after all the hard work I feel proud of what I've achieved. I walk tall, zip up the front, bottom pulled in tight, shoulders relaxed and back!! At the meal table I sit tall with confidence and enjoy every mouthful of food.
I am now embracing my new body, posture and beliefs along with a new wardrobe of clothes. My weight loss is just under 4 stone and my BMI is now a healthy 22."

Step 2:- Complete a questionniare about your Wellbeing to register you as a client.*
Step 3:- Choose the best date for you to join your Programme.
Step 4:- Start your journey to a new slimmer, fitter you!

Group Availability
If you like the sound of LighterLife and want to join, firstly book into a free, no obligation initial appointment (every Wednesday at either 3.30pm or 7.15pm), to find out more, then choose the best date and time below for you to start. You may need to visit your GP, Practice Nurse or Private GP for a short health assessment before you can join, but MOST clients will be able to self certify:

The Small Print
The following applies to the new Programme rules:
- All clients must complete a Wellness Profile at an Initial Consultlation to be able to join a Programme.
- Those clients who are on medications that need to be monitored (this does not apply to all medications - give me a call to check) or who have a condition that needs to be monitored (e.g. Type II Diabetes) will still need to visit their own GP to gain approval to join.
- Clients who needed to gain their GP's approval to join will also need to return to their GP once a month for a blood pressure check.
- Clients aged 16-17 or 70-74 will also need their own GP's approval before joining.
- Clients aged below 16 and 75+ sadly cannot join. Sorry.
- These same rules apply to those who have previously been a client and wish to re-join.
