The Board of Directors of the National Museum of World War II Aviation would like to invite you and one guest to the Grand Opening of Phase One of the Museum. This event will be held in conjunction with the Reunion of the 39th Fighter Squadron Association. Having these events together is historically significant and appropriate since the P-38 aircraft you see in the graphic above was assigned to the 39th Pursuit Squadron and is under restoration to flying condition here in Colorado Springs at the Museum site. You will have the opportunity to view this historically significant aircraft under restoration and meet the World War II commander of the unit. This P-38 Lightning was flown in combat by many of the aces of World War II. Veterans will be signing Museum commemorative publications.
The invitation, dinner and dance band are compliments of the Board of Directors. There will be a cash bar. There will be no formal solicitation to support the museum development, however, tax deductible donations to the National Museum of World War II Aviation foundation would be a great way of showing your support for this national asset which recognizes our Greatest Generation.
It is essential that you make reservations as soon as possible as the seating will be limited. Our caterer needs an accurate count for the dinner so walk-ins will not be admitted. Please put "Museum Grand Opening" in the subject line of your email.
Parking will be on Aviation Way. There will be golf carts to transport you and your guest from parking to the Museum. Bring your camera as several World War II aircraft will be on display. Plan to spend some time with our local World War II Veterans. United States Air Force Academy Cadets will Present the Colors and interact with our guests.
