 Our Family's Holiday Wish List

We are seeing record numbers of individuals and families who are struggling with the most basic of needs - food, clothing, hygiene and medical supplies. This year, we aren't focusing on toy drives for those we serve because their day-to-day needs are so acute. You can help Our Family and those we serve by donating gift cards, hygiene and cleaning supplies, diapers, wipes and new linens.

Our Family Services is partnering with the Primavera Foundation to offer a coordinated housing service called Pathways HOME. Pathways HOME allows the two agencies to share up-to-date information about availability for shelter and housing services of both organizations. When people experiencing homelessness call a single, centralized phone number, trained staff screen them for eligibility into all programs offered by Our Family and Primavera to ensure placement in the service that best meets the needs of each individual and family. Please note that Our Family no longer offers walk-in times to complete screenings. For information or to begin the screening process, please call 520-867-6396.

Poverty Simulation
The Mayor's Commission on Poverty, co-chaired by Our Family's Executive Director Patti Caldwell and Peggy Hutchison of Primavera Foundation, hosted a poverty simulation in October to foster a greater understanding of poverty. The event brought together influential individuals from the business and nonprofit sectors as well as the political arena to critically think about approaches to alleviating the effects of poverty in Tucson. Through the simulation, participants faced everyday realities for community residents who live on limited incomes. Local elected officials, and business and community leaders played the role of families in a variety of simulated circumstances. Learn more by watching this video produced by Tucson 12!
