Changes in Our Family's donation policy

After careful examination, Our Family has made significant modifications to our policies regarding accepting donated items. Shifting needs and changes in funding have challenged us to look at better, more efficient ways of using our resources. For example, Our Family's resources can be better put to use by investing in the things we do best - emergency shelter and housing, support for lonely elders, effective resolution to conflict, and strengthening at-risk children and families in crisis.

As of July 1, Our Family Services no longer accepts clothing at any of our locations. Additionally, we no longer accept used bedding, pillows, towels, or mattresses due to ongoing health concerns such as bedbugs, as well as a lack of storage space. If you have items to give to charity, we encourage you to support one of our community partners - we're all working for the common good!

Our programs and the people we serve have long benefited from the community's generosity through donated clothing, household and personal items.  Please accept our deepest thanks for your valuable donations over the years.

Students learn nutrition and wellness at week-long summer camp

Four students from Our Family's La Escuelita program were awarded scholarships to attend a week-long summer camp through the University of Arizona's Mel & Enid Zuckerman College of Public Health. Students filled out their own scholarship paperwork and wrote short essays about why they wanted to be able to attend camp. The camp, Healthy 2 B Me, had a variety of interactive activities designed to teach wellness, nutrition, cooking, swimming and dance. Additionally, various community experts taught lessons on sun safety, dental health and hygiene. Our students especially liked yoga, zumba and team building activities. As you can tell from the photo below our students had a fantastic time at the Healthy 2 B Me Wellness Camp!
