The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) is in the process of updating Texas' long-range transportation plan, to be known as the Texas Transportation Plan 2040 (TTP 2040).  There will be multiple opportunities to provide input to this plan, and one of those is an on-line survey.  The survey may be found here www.surveymonkey.

You are encouraged to provide input using this survey, as well as other means that may be provided.  Please share this information with others who may be interested in providing input. The main TTP 2040 site, including prior year plans and other information, may also be found here - www.txdot.gov.

Medicare
Are you on Medicare and have a limited income?
Do you need assistance with your prescription drugs?

If the answer to these questions is "yes," you may qualify for one of several prescription drug plans.

The Bexar Area Agency on Aging is dedicated towards helping persons over 60 and persons with disabilities save money on your Medicare benefits.  Income and resource limits have changed in 2014, so you may now qualify.

Low Income Subsidy (LIS) or Extra Help can help you pay your Medicare Part D premiums, deductibles, co-payments/co-insurance, and your prescriptions may be discounted.

The Medicare Savings Program assists people with limited incomes and resources to pay some or all of their Medicare premiums and may pay Medicare deductibles and co-insurance, and with some of the Medicare Savings Programs, even help pay costs of Medicare Part D prescription drug coverage. There are four Medicare Savings Programs available:

  • Qualified Medicare Beneficiary (QMB)
  • Specified Low-income Medicare Beneficiary (SLMB)
  • Qualifying Individual (QI)
  • Qualified Disabled and Working Individuals (QDWI)
To find out if you qualify for one of these Extra Help programs, contact our offices at (210) 477-3275 and ask to speak with a certified Benefits Counselor.  You may also find information online at the Help for Texans page on the Texas Department on Aging website www.dads.state.tx.us
