Winter Solstice ~ December 21, 2012
I especially love the Light in December. Gliding low along the horizon, the rays of the sun illuminate hidden places that are revealed only at this time of the year. And, it is the absence of Light which makes it more desirable.
Indeed, as round up the final days of the long count Mayan calendar, goodness and light seem to have taken a slight leave of absence. My heart goes out to those suffering in Newtown, Connecticut. And, I trust that the events of this national tragedy are initiating discussions which will have positive impact on our future.
The Solstice of 2012 brings us not only to the end of a year, but to the ending of an AGE. I am including a link to my June 2010 newsletter where I present the idea that not only have we irrevocably now moved into the Age of Aquarius, but we are also leaving an age of darkness named by Hindu scriptures as 'Kali Yuga,', and we are entering into a new positive cycle called the 'Satya Yuga'. READ "ROCK OF AGES" [halfway down on page, with pictures of Self Realization Fellowship]
I'm sure many of you have been reading about how the planets are now aligned into a powerful and unique aspect called a trident YOD. I am including a chart wheel below, and have removed some of the planets for visual clarity. Hopefully this makes it easier to understand, and - YOU really can see 'What's Going On.'
This is a special time of year, and a powerful time in your life. Celebrate the honor of your life on earth, and remember, the present is a gift. I have included links to Mayan Calendar and Solstice resources in other parts of this newsletter. I hope you find them as valuable as I have.
Wishing you the brilliance of a bright new day.

The Yod of December 21, 2012 ~ Winter Solstice
This is a chart wheel for the Solstice of December 21, 2012. Other planets and points have been edited so that you can see this primary configuration called a 'YOD' which is going to usher in our future.
The Yod is an astrological aspect between planets that is formed when two planets are sextile each other, (in this case, Pluto in Capricorn is sextile Saturn in Scorpio) and both are quincucx, or inconjunct a third. (Jupiter)
A Yod has been called 'the Hand of God', and it corresponds to the number 10, a value representing a new round on the spiral of life. In tarot, the Yod is represented by the card the 'Hermit, - a symbol of illumination from within, The Hermit appears to be alone, but he is really a leader driven by an urge to explore the world.
The Hermit's lesson is unveiled through the quincux, aspect which reveals hidden stresses and presents a need to adapt to changing circumstances. There is a call to develop CONSCIOUS spiritual wisdom.
This aspect can be considered as a tool similar to a dowsing rod; the Yod guides intuition and intention. Jupiter, in the bottom left of this image functions as the pointer telling us where to go, and how to get there. Pluto and Saturn represent the two hands holding the dowsing rod. Venus, which sits exactly opposite Jupiter, is the release point of this configuration.
Venus opposite Jupiter appears to set up an either - or type of situation. The secret doorway is opened through blessing and sharing of resources; affirming that there is enough love, food, and grace for everyone. Saturn and Pluto speak to the requirement that old structures must be torn down or adapted to make way for a new model of resources that nurture all of the people on this planet. Scarcity and lack will be replaced by planning, accommodation, and positive expectation.
It is Venus who really operates, or guides this configuration which represents our entry into an age of wisdom and unlimited possibility for all. We confirm once again, that it is the Divine Feminine (Venus) that is driving the cart on our way to a New Age.
