Greetings!
Our July meeting featured our DPC competition #3 for 2015, and the images submitted were just amazing. Congratulations to Jim Akers for his "Red Winged Black Bird" image that just had the judges in awe. The judges provided our members with great comments and were impressed with the overall images judged.
Our next meeting will be on the THIRD Thursday this month, August 20, 2015 and will feature our most recent DPC judge, Dan Holmes. Dan will discuss "Creating Powerful and Emotional Landscape Photography", and seeing what Dan has created over the years, it will be amazing! Also note, we will have our annual PPLAC Swap Meet this evening as well. So bring that gear you are looking to sell, as we will have tables setup for you to sell your gear. Please make sure you have a sheet with the item described, price and your name, so the buyer knows who to discuss the sale with.
Please note that Carlos Lozano is accepting donations of camera gear for the disabled veteran's group. You can contact him directly at (323) 721-6665 for more info.
On Wednesday, September 9th PPOC will be presenting an evening with Jerry Ghionis at the Studio Exchange in Santa Ana. All affiliate members are welcomed and this will be a incredible evening with Jerry. This is the event scheduled earlier this year and postponed.
Our next PPLAC workshop is set for Sunday, November 1st, "Photoshop" with Michael Collins, and will be held in Santa Clarita. The workshop will be 10am to 4pm, with a cost of $49 for members and $69 for non-members. Contact Sharon Lobel if you are interested, as this class is limited to 8 people.
