Our February meeting will start the clock on who will be the 2015 Photographer of the Year winners, as our first Digital Photographic Competition is on Thursday, February 26th starting at 7pm. So get those images ready, and don't be left out of the running. Please make sure you take a look at the rules. And if you are unsure about what is required for the DPC, well then we have a Studio Workshop just for you. On Sunday, February 8th from 1:00-5:00pm at Bob Young's studio, he will go over everything DPC. From prepping your images, to submitting the images to what the judges are looking for. Only a few spots remain, so contact Sharon Lobel at shutterbugsharon@aol.com to sign up today.
We have inked world renowned Wedding Photographer "Jerry Ghionis" who has offered to present a very special evening to PPLAC members on Thursday, February 19 starting promptly at 7pm at the Veteran's Memorial Complex (our normal meeting place) "Creativity, Composition and Cropping". This presentation is FREE to PPLAC members, $10 for affiliate members and $40 for Non-Members.
Jerry will offer you a fresh perspective on traditional wedding photography and how he uses inspiration outside the wedding industry to influence his creativity and style. He will offer his unique perspective on powerful composition and cropping that will give your work an edge that will separate your images from your peers. You will not want to miss this special evening.
This week we have two special Safari's being headed by Jim Akers. The first is on Wednesday, February 4th to Vasquez Rocks (currently SOLD OUT!), and the second one on Friday, February 6th to El Matador State Park. Both start at 2pm, and for more info, contact Jim Akers at jimaica_33@msn.com
And if you are looking for a more intense Safari, then Death Valley is the place for you. Bob Young and Sharon Lobel are leading a safari from February 9th - 11th. Contact Sharon Lobel for additional information.
We have a very busy year planned, so if you have not renewed your membership, please make sure to do so ASAP, as it is going to be a fabulous year.
So have a great month, and get out there and shoot some amazing images!
