Our September meeting was extremely interesting. Our guest speaker, Monica Royal, shared some amazing images and then showed us everything involved in how she captured those images so that we, too, could create our own version. How could one not want to create macro images after her presentation? Go ahead, I dare you!

Our upcoming October meeting will feature Jim Doyle. He is the current President of PPC, and is know for his mind-blowing Architectural Photography that wins too many competitions and awards to remotely name. Not only will you be in awe, but hearing his approach and techniques can help you apply to many forms of photography. We look forward to his presentation!

Just a reminder that our last studio workshop of the year will be held on Sunday, October 5th from 1pm-5pm at Bob Young's studio. Bob will be presenting a very informative afternoon on Focus Stacking. Please contact Sharon Lobel ASAP if you are interested, as this is a first come, first paid workshop. Only 3 spaces remain!

As we approach the end of our year, it is time to start recruiting for our 2015 Board. We are always looking for members to impart their talents, so if you are interested, please consider as we will be taking floor nominations at our October meeting. We have an amazing group of talented photographers, and welcome new board members to take us into the new year.

And for those interested in receiving some feedback on your images, PPLAC offers Critique Corner. At any of our general meetings, bring a couple of images in either digital or physical form, and one of our PPC Certified Judges will be more than happy to offer you some feedback. Just let our membership greeters know that you would like to have a critique of your images. This is offered form 6:30pm to 6:55pm at each General Meeting. Just another benefit of your membership with PPLAC.

For those thinking about upcoming trips, the PPC roadshow will be October 11-13 in Mammoth and is open to all photographers. Nothing better than a trip to the Sierra's for a little fall color and bonding with other photographers. Please see the PPC website for additional information.

Monica Royal delivered an outstanding macro photography presentation. She first showed us images from her outstanding work, and walked us through the process of how to take such images.
