Well it seems like summer has arrived, as the weather has warmed up considerably.  And so did our last Digital Image Competition during our May general meeting.  The images were amazing, the judges and their comments were great, and congrats to Bobby Tan for his Best of Show entry.  We took the comments from our February competition and improved the image viewing, so a huge thank you to Bob Young and the entire DPC committee for their efforts for a great competition all around.  While we are on the DPC topic, we would implore each entrant to make sure you look at the image categories as we had several entries that were placed incorrectly.  Having your entry in the correct category can increase your score and also assists us in trying to determine if an entry is truly in the correct category.   

 

We are extremely excited for our upcoming June meeting.  We have one of PPA's top pet photographers coming to PPLAC to present a workshop / meeting.  Please bring your cameras as we will have 2 small dogs present for modeling as Arica talks about taking better pet images.  She will explain the entire process from lighting, to image to post production.  This evening is free to PPLAC members, and $29 for guests and affiliate members.

 

We also just announced at our May meeting that we have added the studio workshop with Marcy on Sunday, July 13th and George DeLoache's portrait workshop on Sunday, August 3rd.  Additional details for both of these awesome studio workshops are listed below in the newsletter.

 
As we start to look into our 2nd half of the year, upcoming meetings include our next DPC on July 24th, August 28th with Ken Sklute, September 18th with Monica Royal, October 23rd with Jim Doyle and our final DPC on November 20th.  It's going to be a great finish to an exciting 2014 year.
 
So have a great month, and get out there and shoot some amazing images!
