Greetings!
If you've been sleeping under a rock, you probably don't realize what is going on with Adobe Photoshop! In a nutshell: If you don't have CS6 (Creative Suite), now would be the time to get your final upgrade as Adobe will not be supporting it anymore as a stand-alone program. Adobe made the move to a CC (Creative Cloud) subscription. This is not a bad thing or a good thing (depends how you look at it). Click here to check out Adobe Creative Cloud and form your own opinion. Lightroom will still be a stand-alone program which you will still be able to purchase. (Yeah!!) If this is confusing to you, give me a call and I will fill you in. In the meantime, Happy shooting and stay safe this 4th of July! Cheers, Bob Young PPLAC President

Photog Tip

July the 4th fireworks are a spectacular event and easily captured in camera. A sturdy tripod is a must, a cable release is useful, and camera settings are fairly simple. My experience is: ISO 100 f 8 @1 second FOR A SINGLE SHOT OF A FIREWORK; longer is BETTER (10,20,30 seconds) FOR MANY SHOTS OF CONTINUOUS FIREWORKS . If you're a Nikon shooter your lowest ISO is 200 (I believe), so try f 11 for the same effect. A 70 to 200 mm lens would be a good choice. Wide angle doesn't work well unless you're sitting under them-- then you have to deal with the smoke and falling debris (if the wind changes).
