Dear (Contact First Name),
Well, we did it-- the Salton Sea Photo Safari, that is.
Yeah, I've heard it all before: "What! Leave at 6 a.m., drive 180 miles, walk around in 108 degree weather, traipse one mile across mud flats, get your boots filthy just for a shot of a dead tree in the lake, drive down dirt paths, walk among birds' nests on the rocks --" You betcha: Just for shots that no one else has!
There's nothing like going out on a safari, and you can do it on your own! For example: Get home from work one day and instead of reaching for that beer and putting your feet up on your favorite ottoman to watch the (bad) news-- Grab your camera and head down the road to a park, the beach, or up that hill just behind your house. Then, in the morning, get up three hours early and shoot the same locations all over again.
You've heard the saying "Practice makes perfect!" Well, it's so true.
What are you waiting for? Just go do it!

Don't let the elements gum up your photo equipment. Clean it after using, especially outdoors. It'll save $ in repairs down the road, and keep your pics free from debris!

AUGUST: SWAP MEET MONTH
Move out good, gently used equipment you don't need-- to make room for some other photo toys! Bring your stuff to the August monthly meeting to sell or swap. (10% of each sale goes to PPLAC). Don't forget seller pays 10% of the sale price to PPLAC.
