Harding University Names New President

Dr. Bruce McLarty, 55, vice president for spiritual life at Harding University, has been named to succeed Harding University President David B. Burks when Burks retires from the position in June.
Dr. McLarty is a 1975 graduate of Harding Academy of Memphis.

Veterans Day Program to Honor Ike Hall 
Friday, November 9, the upper school will host a Veterans Day program honoring former Harding teacher Ike Hall. Mr Hall taught 7th grade geography and Bible at Harding Academy from 1966-1988. He served in WWII and was confined to a wheelchair after being injured.
ATHLETICS
Senior Jack Hurdle Commits to NECC
Congratulations to SS Jack Hurdle, who has committed to play baseball at Northeast Mississippi Community College in Booneville, MS.
Varsity Boys Cross Country @ State 
Congratulations to our varsity boys cross country team who qualified for state based on their performance in the regional meet. For the second year in a row, Christopher Galbreath finished first in the region. The team will compete tomorrow in the state meet at Percy Warner in Nashville.
Varsity Football Playoffs Tonight 
Come out tonight and support our varsity football team in a home playoff game against Zion Christian at 7:00 p.m. Admission to the game is $8. Prices are set by TSSAA. Student passes will not work for playoff games. Go, Lions!

Girls from all over the Memphis area are invited to a day just for them! "The Walk" will be held on Saturday, November 10, at Germantown Church of Christ. Cost is $15. Times are staggered from the boys area-wide (below) so parents/drivers can get kids to both events. You can find out more information and register at THEWALKFORGIRLS.WEBS.COM.

Congratulations to senior Shelley Doss who was accepted into the AP Art Portfolio class at Memphis College of Art this semester.
