Storyline
|
St. Luke's has a distinguished history of hosting
amazing authors and speakers to our sanctuary. The next great thinker, author, and speaker to visit St. Luke's will be Donald Miller on January 25th, hosted by the United Methodist Men. His best selling Christian memoir "Blue Like Jazz" was made into a movie which taught Don about the importance of living a good story. He now considers it his calling to share the story of God, and help others find their subplot in His story. His most recent book, Storyline, was written with exactly that goal. What story are you writing with your life?
- Try this week's "Let Story be Your Guide" on
SUNDAY JANUARY 19 in E212
to learn more about who Don is.
- Find & write your subplot during the "Storyline" book study
WEDNESDAYS starting JANUARY 15th
- And get your tickets now for Don's inspiring message JAN 25:

"FREEDOM!!"
|
Ever heard someone declare their freedom from debt on The Dave Ramsey show?
Imagine being able to declare YOUR freedom from financial burdens in 2014!
The St. Luke's United Methodist Men will again sponsor Dave Ramsey's Financial Peace University classes beginning in January. FPU is a 9-week class featuring materials that go over such topics as saving, budgeting, debt reduction, insurance, and investing. You do not have to be in financial trouble to benefit from this course. Look for registration opportunities and class previews in January. There is a cost of $100 per family for materials and lifetime membership.
The class begins Tuesday, January 21 in room E107. Contact Jason at 845-9747 or Jason.bick@att.net with questions.

Servant Saturday

St. Luke's is starting a new partnership with Vida Nueva UMC. Vida Nueva serves the inner city and Latino community with English classes, legal assistance, youth programs, food pantry, computer classes, GED classes, and more.
Join us February 1st, from 9am-1pm as we assist with projects in and around the church.
This is a good opportunity to volunteer and a great one to include your entire family. Many opportunities are available including painting, installing ceiling fans, constructing wood window frames, organizing donated items for the food pantry, and many more.
