We've added a sleek new color and new Shimano build kit options to the RLT 9 lineup.

Designed with a tube set similar to the proven AIR 9, the RLT 9's tube shapes are shaped to meet Niner's ride quality standards. Even riders who prefer the company of saguaros to the cacophony of crowds appreciate comfort and low weight. Proprietary forged dropouts are designed to reduce weight and integrate the low-profile post brake mount with the chainstay. 27.2mm seatpost reduces road vibrations on gravel or chip seal roads and reduces body fatigue on all-day rides. When paired with the RDO Seatpost (designed for twice the flex of traditional carbon posts), fatigue is reduced even further.

The new Black / Niner Red color option pairs perfectly with Ultegra Di2 Hydro and Niner's new carbon cyclocross wheelset.

Niner makes the best off road rigid forks in the world and now we bring this experience to dirt roads everywhere. The RLT 9 frameset continues our award winning ways with a full carbon, gravel-tuned and custom painted Niner Carbon Fork, backed by our C5 Warranty - 5 years.

Full cable housing keeps the grit out of your shifting system in the nastiest conditions. Cables enter the down tube behind the head tube and exit below the BB for easy set up and low maintenance, and when you're ready, we've integrated Di2 compatibility with a seatpost wiring port.

Similar in design and function to its BioCentric II counterpart - but compact for use in most PF30 shells - the Biocentric 30 makes adjustments easy across a wide range of gears and eliminates the need for adjustable dropouts. This gives riders the cleanest possible solution for singlespeed use on a PF30 compatible frame - no bolt on hubs, no chain tensioners, no brake adjustments with gear changes. The sealed bottom bracket is integrated into the cups of the BioCentric 30 and is capable of handling most 24mm spindle cranks.

GREATER RANGE

The BioCentric 30 offsets the bottom bracket spindle 8.5mm from center, offering greater range of adjustment compared to a more traditional EBB setup. More offset is a boon when changing gears without having to change chain length and it allows riders to make more noticeable changes to frame geometry via BB position.

RELIABLE FUNCTION

Traditional EBB units are held in place with set screws that can become difficult to finely adjust over time, or expansion wedges that can deform the bottom bracket shell of the frame. Split BB shells that clamp an EBB can stretch or ovalize. The BioCentric 30 avoids these troubles by using two bolts to apply a clamping force on the outside edges of the BB shell, eliminating the possibility of ovalizing or indexing the shell itself. Secure, quiet, easy to install and adjust, the BioCentric 30 will change your ideas about singlespeed drivetrain setup and maintenance.

Sea Otter 2014 signaled the start of a new chapter for Niner Bikes - for the first time in our company history, we had two professional teams to watch and root for! In addition to the many talented amateur racers on our bikes, we now have a group of athletes racing our bikes at the highest level, giving us feedback on our designs and working with us to determine the future of Niner's racing bikes.

In the pic above are our "redwoods" on Team Clif MTB & Cyclocross and Team Backcounty.com. Left to right - TJ Woodruff, Brady Kappius, Troy Wells, and Menso DeJong. These guys are racing a mix of the One 9 RDO and Jet 9 RDO frames for their cross country bikes. The Clif guys are TALL - a great way to test the effects of power and leverage on our pivots, bottom brackets and components.

Short track was the first event on the pro schedule, and the course was just about perfect for maximum pain - short, hilly and no place to rest. Above, Troy Wells gives a strong effort for an 8th place finish on his Jet 9 RDO

Menso De Jong is rarely found with his wheels on the ground - when he picked out his race bikes, the Jet 9 RDO was on the list, but so was a WFO 9 (Menso can't resist an enduro). It didn't surprise us that most of Ian's photos  from the short track captured Menso airborne.

The Clif guys know how to have fun, even when it hurts. Above, Brady Kappius and his One 9 RDO find the time for a little style during the short track.

When it came time for the Pro Women's short track race, we were all nervous with anticipation - this was Chloe Woodruff's first time lining up after several weeks of healing a knee injury sustained while teaching a skills course over the winter (yes, she is very aware of the irony :-) ). Much to everyone's delight, the knee proved strong as did Chloe's training and she managed to get onto the podium with a strong 5th place. In particular, it was a lot of fun to see how good she was in the technical sections of the course - Chloe is a heck of a bike handler!

The next event on the docket was the Pro Cross Country race. We were really excited to get to see our new racer, Evelyn Dong, line up with her teammate Chloe. These women are incredible athletes, and we believe that two riders of their caliber racing as teammates is going to bring a new dynamic to US racing. Plus, they know how to have fun! Above - Chloe and Evelyn give a thumbs up before the start of the Pro Cross Country race with their XS Air 9 RDO Niners.

The Team Clif MTB & Cyclocross team and the Team Backcounty.com guys were first off the line. An incredibly fast race, we were happy to see our crew in the front half of the group, including rider Menso De Jong, on the beautiful local single track!

TJ Woodruff, coach and racer, lays down the power on his XX1 equipped One 9 RDO

The women's race was fast from the start, and we were beyond excited to see that both of our riders had made the first split, along with Marianne Vos, Katarina Nash and Olympian Mary McConnelog. Above - Chloe and Evelyn tearing legs off of the competition on the spectacular single track of Monterey, CA.

The second 18 mile lap proved as exciting as the first, with our racers in the very last group, and eventually making the podium in 3rd and 4th. Above - Evelyn Dong, stoked on her world class finish.

The final women's podium was filled with world-caliber athletes - we couldn't be more proud to have Niner riders in the mix. Above, left to right - Chloe Woodruff 4th, Katarina Nash 3rd, Marianne Vos 1st, Evelyn Dong 4th and Larissa Connors 5th.

At the end of the day, it is still all about the ride - after the racing was done, we still had time to grab a bit of sunset single track. Above - Jason Sager, team manager and kick ass racer, catching the California rays. (Jason's Instagram account is your source for behind the scenes shots of Evelyn with bottles of whiskey and other such shenanigans.)

Two weeks after Sea Otter, the crew was back to racing, this time at the Whiskey Off Road in Prescott, AZ. There, we got yet another confirmation of our women's team strength with Chloe Woodruff taking the wins in both the short track and the XC race and with Evelyn Dong grabbing third in the XC for yet another Niner-filled podium! Check the interview below for a sense  of what a great competitor and person Chloe is!

Located in Mountain View, CA, within easy driving distance of all the Bay Area's classic trails, a stone's throw from Google, Facebook and other famous dot com companies,  Cognition Cyclery is a great place for riders to get local beta and a look at the newest Niners.

Niner was an easy choice for Cognition, "We carry Niner because we needed a brand riders could trust with great ride quality. Niner has Delivered in spades." The shop keeps EMD 9 and Jet 9 Carbon bikes in stock in most sizes and is a great place for Niner special orders. No matter which model you end up on, they take care of their customers, via free basic maintenance for the lifetime of bike ownership.

Cognition is celebrating their 5th anniversary this year, and over the past few years has made a strong effort to support the community through maintenance clinics and group rides. Free maintenance clinics start in May on the first and third Tuesday of each month, lead by shop mechanic, Hollister. Learn to change a flat and adjust your brakes and deraiaileurs and ask any special questions you may have. Topanga Canyon is part of the Santa Monica Mountains nestled between Pacific Palisades, Malibu and the Valley (Woodland Hills to be exact). Truly a hidden gem inside Los Angeles, for decades Topanga has retained its retreat-like settings and rural charms.

When you drive through Topanga Canyon you will immediately be awed by the lush and forest-like settings. It seems so remote but yet the shop is only 12 miles from the Santa Monica Pier. The Chris Kelly, the owner of Topanga Creek selected this location not only for its natural and beautiful surroundings, but also for its proximity to some of the best mountain biking trails found in all of Southern California.

Topanga Creek Cyclery  focuses primarily on mountain bikes and touring bikes - a perfect fit for Niner's line-up. Currently, you can find ROS 9 in size Medium and Large, the One 9  in Large and the Jet 9 Carbon in Large and X-Large. They also expect to have a couple of RLT 9s on the floor in May - they are the first shop to have the new black color on order and will have it soon.

Topanga is a great place to scratch that itch for group rides and racing. Every Saturday, a mountain bike ride leaves the shop at 8am - do a 2 hour ride and then meet back at the shop for coffee and banana bread. On Wednesdays join the crew for "Unpredict your Wednesday" adventure rides. Topanga also sponsors a race team - rider Ryan Speers has been racking up the wins on his single speed, including last week's Bonelli Cat 1 race. Call (310.455.2111) or visit the shop for complete details on all of these opportunities for fun, or you can visit the Topanga Creek Facebook page for info on group rides, the self service after hours shop and more.
