The ONE 9 RDO and SIR 9 are perfect examples of Niner's versatility. On the outside, these bikes seem very different - the ONE 9 RDO is destined to be the race bike of choice for Niner's 2014 professional sponsorships, while the SIR 9 is a bike most accurately compared to the art produced by custom builders. What unifies them is their versatility and simplicity - both are excellent choices for singlespeed or 1x11 drivetrains (the SIR 9 is also front derailleur compatible).

The functionality of 1 x 11 drivetrains is addicting - this is a lesson we at Niner have learned over the last year. Our demo fleet features SRAM XX1 on several models, both full suspension and hardtail. The constant comments from demo riders about the silent operation, perfectly predictable shifting and the lack of any chain noise are one argument for this set up - the fact that the components have outlasted over 130 days of demo is another.

We believe that steel shouldn't be treated as "retro". Our SIR 9 has the classic steel ride quality, but incorporates up to date standards such as 142x12 spacing and a 44mm headtube. Why shouldn't steel afficionados get to ride the latest in wheels and forks? |

The SIR 9 and ONE 9 RDO are both singlespeed and geared compatible. The SIR 9 uses Niner-designed Breezer style dropouts with a clever insert system to go back and forth between geared and single options. If one gear is your poison, Niner has you covered with a range of alloy and titanium cog options. |

Of course, the matching carbon Niner RDO fork looks great on both the ONE 9 RDO and the SIR 9 frames. Tested to European safety standards, Niner's carbon forks set a high bar for rigid mountain bike performance and weight. |
