We Have the Best Members. I gave you a challenge last week. Today I will give out my thanks. Thank you to all of the businesses that were involved in the 2nd Annual Business Showcase, our Sponsors - the Nevele Resort, Casino, and Spa and Wallkill Valley Federal Savings and Loan, and to Helen Gutfreund, our Marketing and Communications Director, and Megan Gelber, the Chamber's Office Administrator. Thank you to our speakers and to Novella's, New Paltz. Together, we all made this event a success. We had 56 vendors at the Showcase. We had representation from the Adirondack Regional Chamber of Commerce and the Southern Saratoga Chamber of Commerce, the New Paltz Regional Chamber of Commerce Foundation, The HYPE and other entities as well. You all stepped up and helped make this the event all that it was. We are surveying the vendors and the visitors who attended. We can always get better and we ask that you let us know what you saw that could be done a little bit differently. You can take the survey here. We will be recapping the event this week in our own meeting and will seek to have the 3rd Annual Business Showcase on an even better foundation than this one. We will be booking the venue in the next few weeks so that we can build off of the success we achieved this year. Stay tuned for that. I promise it will be exciting. We have three (well, four) Ribbon Cuttings this week. Thursday offers a Ribbon Cutting and Open House at Kalleco Nursery in Tillson at 5:30 pm (ceremony at 6) followed by a second Ribbon Cutting and Anniversary Party at Jar'd Wine Pub at the Water Street Market at 7:30 pm (party starts at 4, ceremony at 7:30). Then Friday there is Ribbon Cutting and Open House at Jordan's Bistro & Pizzeria in New Paltz at 12 pm (ceremony at 12:30) and again at 5:30 pm (ceremony at 6:00 pm). W.O.W; just kidding... that isn't until May 5th ;-) The New Paltz Clean Sweep is April 26th and that kicks off from St. Joseph's Church at 8:30 AM. Relay for Life is the same day here in New Paltz, and Moxie Cup will be hosting a science show in celebration of Earth Day with George from Palladium Science Academy from 12-2 pm. I'm not done yet... Sunday June 15th is the New Paltz Challenge, Glenn Shepard will be speaking on July 8th and I'm in high level negotiations with Larry at the New Paltz Golf Course to have our 10 Hole Networking Golf Event, followed by a 9 hole Glow Ball Tournament for The HYPE on that same day. So, if you are a golfer, that offers a nice change of pace that evening and if you aren't a golfer come anyway to play at night when nobody can see you! Yes, we are busy and we want to see you at the Chamber.
Sincerely, Peter Ingellis Interim President
