I Don't Know Everything... Or Everyone, For That Matter
I had Megan Gelber, our Administrative Assistant laughing hysterically recently because I said, "You know, I don't know everything." She found it funny enough to ask that we stop and note down the date and time that I said that for proof. It was at 1:22 p.m. on February 24, 2014 that I admitted that I didn't know everything and I know that I don't. This made me think.
Our Membership is our connection to the people that we know and those we don't know. We appreciate your referrals and the conversations that you strike up about the New Paltz Regional Chamber of Commerce. It doesn't end there and that is why I am asking you to all go one step further. It isn't something that is going to cost you money or take up a lot of your time.
Invite a business friend to an event. Encourage them to set up a meeting at the Chamber office, forward this newsletter, ask them to follow our Facebook page, or tell them to come to the Business Showcase. Whew! Now I don't have to know everyone because I have you there to help our organization! Through your efforts, I will eventually get to know them. We have Members all over the Hudson Valley and beyond - just imagine where that could lead.
The New Paltz Regional Chamber of Commerce is a different Chamber. I have said this going back to when I was a Member. You get real value from this Chamber and we are known for providing it and being keyed into what our Membership wants. We listened and formed W.O.W.; heard you and worked on making H.Y.P.E. a reality, established the Business Showcase, planned mixers at excellent venues and luncheons offering exciting speakers. We are not done. Glenn Shepard will be here in July, we just arranged for Ulster County Executive Mike Hein to speak in August and there's more to come!
The New Paltz Regional Chamber of Commerce is working to advance our Mission and Vision for the Region. We cannot do that without your continued support and assistance. Please consider referring our Chamber to other business people. We assure you that we will give credit where credit is due. We know that it is our valued Members who are the movers and shakers in the community.
I look forward to seeing you all soon and, in case I didn't make it clear enough earlier, bring a friend with you. That's how it works, and it is just that simple.
See you at the Chamber! Peter Ingellis Interim President
