News and Upcoming Events
May 28, 2013
Every Tuesday, the New Paltz Regional Chamber of Commerce sends out our News and Upcoming Events email.  Continue reading to see how the Chamber is benefiting our community and how you can participate.

Greetings!

The Consolidated Funding Application (CFA) workshop  was a highly informational event hosted by Ulster County earlier this month, and we were honored to be among the attendees.  The CFA provides an avenue through which organizations can obtain grant funding from various state entities including the Department of State and Empire State Development, to name just a couple.

Not only did Governor Cuomo just announce a number of deadlines in June around the CFA process, but he also unveiled his Tax-Free NY plan right here at SUNY New Paltz last week.  Chamber staff and Board of Directors members were invited to attend the Governor's speech at the college, where he outlined his plan to transform college towns into very attractive places to create new businesses by offering tax incentives to said businesses in upstate New York Towns.

We have a number of events coming up in June which we are very excited about.  we're thrilled to welcome all new members at our reception at Fox & Hound on June 4.  If you have joined the Chamber within the past year, you will be receiving another email about this event. That's followed by an After-Hours Mixer open to everyone at A Tavola on June 11, and many more to come (see below).  We also recently sent out our bi-monthly bi-fold mailer with a full list of events for June and July, so if you haven't already received it, keep an eye on your mailbox!

Sincerely,

Michael A. Smith, president
