New Year, New Look
It's going to be a big year...

And we're kicking it off with a bang:

  • First, new reporting software for our members. This week, we'll launch an upgraded version of the Climate Registry Information System (CRIS 4.0), which is the software program our members use to calculate, report and manage their GHG inventories.

The updated platform represents a big step forward. We know that software launches are often accompanied by a few growing pains, but we're excited about this evolution and confident that our members will find CRIS 4.0 easier to navigate and more intuitive to use.

  • Next, a new TCR logo and website. We refreshed our brand to better reflect where and who we are now as an organization. We hope you like our new look and will find it easier to get to the information you need on our new site, which is coming soon! We're looking forward to unveiling the new site's updated sections, which feature our current work and will now include a webinar library, "Donate to TCR" page and interactive lists of our valued Board of Directors, members and partners.
  • Then, the fourth-annual Climate Leadership Awards and ConferenceThis year the events are in Washington, D.C. from February 23-25. Along with our partners U.S. EPA, C2ES and ACCO, we are delighted to celebrate some of the leading lights in the U.S. and to once again convene a critical conversation between forward-thinking leaders from business, government, academia and the non-profit community.

And, of course, we continue to help jurisdictions in North America and beyond to build capacity in carbon accounting and reporting, as well as evaluate how they can build and link their programs in the future.

These efforts are as important as ever, given the global momentum for taking action on carbon. In the U.S., the Clean Power Plan (CPP) is providing a focus for carbon reduction efforts, and the critical UN Conference of the Parties (COP) to be held in Paris later this year - where the next set of binding emissions reduction targets will be determined - is on the radar of climate policymakers around the world.

015 is going to be a big year on all fronts. We're looking forward to helping businesses, governments and you be among the difference makers.

Water/Energy GHG Guidance in Development

As part of Southern California Edison's (SCE) Cool Planet Project incentives for its business customers, TCR is conducting a research study of all available GHG accounting and verification methods related to the water-energy nexus.  The findings will be published in a Technical Brief in March, and we will be holding 6 public workshops/webinars at different locations in SCE territory to review and gather input on the Brief from SCE business customers starting in April.  Stay tuned for announcements about the Technical Brief release and workshop dates and locations.

New Scope 2 GHG Reporting Guidance
GHG Protocol has released updated Scope 2 Guidance, which offers standards for how corporations report for GHGs from electricity and account for their renewable energy investments. We're currently working to incorporate the new guidance into our own reporting program.
Welcome, Jenna!
