Greetings
from the Executive Director!
Here we are once again at the beginning of a new year! I always love new beginnings... and this year in particular, is going to be a big one here at the Chamber! As I have been traveling around, I have had so many interesting conversations while getting to know all of you. The Board and I have been chatting too, and a lot of great ideas are percolating up. Here is just a glimpse of what we are looking forward to working on this year!
We are looking to target 2015 with an enhanced Member2Member Program! Each time you shop local for your goods and services, present your new Member Card to participating members. This is all you need to do to take advantage of a myriad of discounts and special offers. These offers are exclusive to Greater Easthampton Chamber Members who present their Member Card only! If you would like to participate in the program with an offer, just give Denise or me a call and we'll get you going!
I am working now with the Board, regional and member partners to beef up our Speaker Series for this year as well... our goal is to bring you quality, pertinent and informative opportunities, so stay tuned for that!
We also will be refreshing our web page this year. Along with a more interesting, engaging and user-friendly site, we will be able offer our members some new and exciting opportunities.
As always, from my perspective, the sky is the limit, and the only way to fly is together! Happy New Year to you and all those you love!
Ciao for now!

Area News: Winterfest Comes to Town on Feb. 14
The 2nd Annual Easthampton Annual WinterFest will take place on Saturday, Feb. 14. The theme this year is "Let Easthampton warm your heart and fall in love with winter."
WinterFest is a daylong event celebrating winter, family fun, and Easthampton's historic past in the ice harvesting industry. The festival is coordinated by the Nashawannuck Pond Steering Committee, with support from the Chamber. WinterFest is also a fundraising event, created to bring awareness to the public about ongoing efforts needed to keep Nashawannuck Pond healthy for generations to come.
Activities will be held at the pond and throughout the city, including outdoor fun discovering nature at Arcadia Wildlife Sanctuary, the very popular and competitive chili cook--off at Eastworks, draft horse wagon rides by Blue Star Equiculture, snowman building at Daley Field, and kid's games and crafts. There will also be a Historical Ice Harvest on the pond, followed by a pond--side community bonfire complete with roast marshmallows, hot cocoa, and fire spinning. For an updated list of activities, locations and important information, visit www.nashawannuckpond.org.
The event is free for everyone and donations gladly accepted. The event will then be followed by Easthampton City Arts "Fire and Ice Artwalk," which begins following the community bonfire.
More information and a list of event sponsors may be found on the Nashawannuck Pond's website . This program is supported in part by a grant from the Easthampton Cultural Council, a local agency which is supported by the Massachusetts Cultural Council.
