STRENGTH IN NUMBERS
THE VIEW FROM 33 UNION STREET
It is often said, "there is strength in numbers". This strength is of paramount importance to any association and your Chamber of Commerce is no different.
Growing our numbers can achieve multiple benefits for you. New members bring new ideas and vitality which enhances the success of our programming. New Chamber members share your goal of an economically strong Greater Easthampton. A strong economy increases the area's overall quality of life. That common goal and the statement: "Hi, I'm a fellow Chamber member" can help open a new door and aid in growing your enterprise.
How can you help out and grow our membership? One great way is to introduce a prospective member to the Chamber and fellow members by asking them to attend with you one of our monthly Networking by Night Business Card Exchanges. Our next Networking is Thursday, May 9 at 5:00 pm hosted by Amy's Pace Bar & Grill and sponsored by Easthampton Savings Bank. Its always a great event, with great food and libations and there's even a door prize of two Red Sox with bus tickets from the Bank.
Here's the scoop, if a Chamber member invites a prospect to come to Networking, we will pay their attendance fee and, as thanks for bringing someone along with you, we will pay your fee too!
If you have someone in mind and would like them to attend with you, give us a call at 527.9414 or shoot us an email at info@easthamptonchamber.org. For planning purposes, an RSVP by Tuesday, May 7 will be greatly appreciated.
As always, we value your membership, support of your Chamber of Commerce and efforts to build our strength!
Thanks!
Eric Snyder

Chamber Benefit News: GRIST Starts May 7-- Sign Up Today! The proverb "All is grist for the mill" means that everything can be used to make a profit. Any word of advice, experience resolving a problem, or response to an idea that one business person can share with another is of potential value in helping one another's business grow.
Beginning Tuesday, May 7, the Chamber will roll out a new member benefit called GRIST (Get Real Individual Support Today). It's an ongoing small group for members who want to mentor one another, share ideas, and provide advice to each other on the daily challenges of running a successful business.
This group will be composed of no more than 10-15 members and will meet the first and third Tuesdays of each month at the Chamber office from 9:00 to 10:00 AM. There is no charge for this new member benefit. The group is also intended to be self-governing, so the members will determine their own needs, goals and activities from sessions to session. Co-leaders Derek Allard of Tunnel 7 and Fran Fahey of Fran's Fine Editing look forward to starting this program. Derek said, 'This is a great opportunity for sole proprietors and small businesses who have many similar issues running their own businesses to learn from each other. Perhaps you have a solution for something that is troubling me, or I the same for you. Together we can maker each other stronger and learn from each other's ideas." "I was a member of this type of group in another Chamber I belonged to, and it was a real growth experience. Working with the same folks from meeting to meeting, you not only enjoy getting to know them but also trust their honest feedback.," said Fran.

The group is open to both Chamber members and those interested in joining the Chamber. RSVP is required by
