Annual Meeting Elects Officers, New Board Members
The Southampton Country Club banquet hall was packed on January 24th as the Chamber held its 2013 Annual Meeting and dinner. Along with the presentation of the 2012 Annual Awards and certificates of member milestones, the meeting held the Chamber's annual elections of its 2013 Offficers and Board of Directors.

Member Spotlight: Dandelions Florist

Starting this month, future newsletters will feature links to these benefits in our sidebar.  The Wireless Zone of Easthampton offers all members $20 off a smart phone with a new 2-year agreement, and a 20% discount on all accessories. Member News: The Art World CHATs It Up in Easthampton
 Easthampton City Arts+ recently began a monthly networking event for creative people called C.H.A.T. (Come Hang Around and Talk). The first meeting took place on January 28, 2013 from 6:00 - 7:00 p.m. at the Art Bar Café, 1 Northampton St. In the future, C.H.A.T. will occur on the last Monday of every month.
ECA+ invites artists, performers, writers, musicians, dancers, and creative business owners to this relaxed creative networking hour, where attendees can make connections with other creative makers, meet ECA+ members, or find out how they can sign-up to become ECA+ members. The Art Bar Café will sell refreshments and delectable food. C.H.A.T. is free and open to the public.
The next Art Walk, themed "Fire and Ice," will take place on February 9th and will include a bonfire by the Nashawannuck pond, poets and performers, and exhibitions throughout the city. Other novel events planned or being held by ECA+ for 2013 include "Unbuttoned," a monthly event that celebrates the spoken word at Luthier's Co-op; a call for public bike rack sculptures; artist forums planned for March, May, and June to provide a chance for artists to present their work and to share verbally what they're doing; and a collaborative effort to find and catalog performing arts spaces in the city.

Area News:
Hampshire County RTC Ready to Unveil Plan
The Hampshire County Regional Tourism Council (HCRTC) will unveil the next step in its plans with a special event for chamber members and the hospitality industry, to be held at a location in Hampshire County on March 7. First launched in 2011, the mission of the HCRTC is to supplement and enhance local efforts at marketing tourism to promote the economic development of the region.
The event planned for March 7 will present details of the HCRTC's long-term strategy to promote the region as well as its branding.
The HCRTC is one of 16 in the state and has 14 members and 1 part-time staff person. It is state funded through MOTT, the Mass. office of travel and tourism, and involves the collaboration of the three local chambers in Hampshire county, Northampton, Amherst and Greater Easthampton.
Further details on the location and time of the March 7 event will be e-mailed to Chamber members during the month of February.
